The Anzac Retreat occupies a beautifully appointed space within 45 Anzac Avenue`s century-old walls, and the warmth of the welcome here is matched only by the quality of the finish throughout.

The kitchen is equipped with a SMEG oven and cooktop, Miele fridge/freezer, and ASKO dishwasher — all chosen for the same considered quality that defines the rest of the suite. The Illy barista machine is loaded with curated blends, ready from arrival. Soho Rose Tablekraft cutlery is set at the dining table, and a Voila iron and JVD Velyss garment steamer are on hand for longer stays.

The living area`s Rega P1 turntable, paired with a Marshall speaker, has become something of a signature feature among guests who return — there`s a particular unhurried pleasure in an evening spent with a record playing properly rather than streamed through a phone speaker. Samsung Smart TVs are equally available for those who prefer to stream.
Both bedrooms are dressed in premium hotel-quality linens, with the master bedroom served by its own ensuite and the second by a well-appointed main bathroom — both featuring underfloor heating for warmth underfoot. Air conditioning throughout ensures comfort regardless of the season.

45 Anzac Avenue — a century of history, reimagined

The building at 45 Anzac Avenue has stood at the heart of Auckland for over a century and has been transformed, with extraordinary sensitivity and an uncompromising standard of finish, into a collection of luxury suites unlike anything else in the city. The collection comprises eight suites in total, an intentionally intimate number that ensures genuine privacy, exclusivity, and the kind of personalised experience that has earned this suite its Guest Favourite status.

The entire suite is exclusively yours — both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the living and dining area. Access is via electronic key card or smartphone app for seamless, secure entry at any hour.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. A member of our team will personally welcome you on arrival — the warmth of this welcome is consistently mentioned in guest reviews. Please let us know your expected arrival time.

Early check-in and late checkout can often be accommodated subject to availability. A private chauffeur transfer from Auckland Airport can be arranged with at least 48 hours notice.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

BRITOMART — FIVE MINUTES FROM YOUR DOOR
Auckland`s most celebrated precinct

Step outside and within two minutes you are in Britomart — Auckland`s most revered and revitalised urban precinct. Amano, Mr Morris, Ortolana, and Kingi at The Hotel Britomart anchor an exceptional dining scene throughout the cobblestoned laneways.

Flagship boutiques from Maggie Marilyn, Karen Walker, Zambesi, Kate Sylvester, and Deadly Ponies line the laneways alongside carefully curated independent stores — a genuinely lovely place to spend an unhurried afternoon

Commercial Bay and the Viaduct Harbour are a short walk, as is the Auckland Ferry Terminal for Waiheke Island and Hauraki Gulf services. Albert Park and the Auckland Art Gallery are a few minutes uphill, and the Sky Tower is five minutes on foot.

Britomart Transport Centre is two minutes on foot and connects the full train network across the city. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is nearby for Waiheke Island and harbour services. Uber and private car services are available throughout the CBD at all hours. There is no dedicated car park with the suite, but secure off-site parking can be arranged on request. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.

The Rega P1 turntable is stocked with ready and waiting for you to spin a record or three. The Illy machine is supplied with curated blends. A Voila iron and JVD Velyss garment steamer are provided for considered stays.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout. No parties or events. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Checkout is by 11:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the building.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.
