The best area to stay in Aubous is generally the town centre, particularly around the Place de l'Église, for its convenience and access to local life.

The town centre of Aubous is quite compact and easily walkable. It's characterised by traditional stone buildings and narrow streets, with the Place de l'Église acting as its focal point. Here, you'll find the main church, a few local shops, and eateries, giving you a real sense of the community.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate staying within the town centre. It offers a peaceful setting for strolls, with easy access to local restaurants for dinner. You can enjoy the charm of the historic buildings and the quiet pace of life, superb for unwinding.

For those planning to explore the wider Nouvelle-Aquitaine region by car, staying slightly on the outskirts of the town centre, but still within a short walk, can be a good option.

The best time to visit Aubous is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

In spring, the countryside around Aubous comes alive with blooming wildflowers, and the vineyards begin to green. Temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the rolling hills and charming villages. Early autumn offers similarly comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 25°C, and the landscape is adorned with the warm colours of the grape harvest. This is an excellent time for food and wine enthusiasts to experience the local culture, perhaps even participating in a grape-picking event or enjoying regional festivals. The weather remains suitable for outdoor activities like cycling or walking, making it a good choice for those who appreciate active holidays combined with culinary experiences.

While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be quite warm, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, and attractions can be busier.
