The property is conveniently located next to Emory University. The staff is friendly. The facility is a bit old and tired.

We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. We put in new carpet 3 months ago, repainted the inside of the rooms as well as improvements to the HVAC. There are plans for other updates such as new mattresses and window treatments this year. Management would appreciate knowing more about your "run down" description if you would like to directly provide your feedback to them. We very much appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Overall property was in poor condition and interior room was filled with used broken down furniture. Bath tub was covered with rust and dirty. Floors need new carpet and tile/linoleum. Just overall poor condition. Oh and window treatments covered in dripping stains.

We are so sorry we did not meet your expectations. We certainly hope you had a restful sleep. After inspection of the room after your departure today we agree that the blackout curtain needs to be replaced and will be in the near future. As to the carpet it was replaced in December 2023. We do not have linoleum in the room anywhere so not sure about that, while the ceramic tile is in excellent condition. We do agree the tub needs attention. We use cleaning processes that exceed CDC requirements and we are often praised for our cleanliness of our rooms. It is extremely concerning to us that you could have found the room not clean, therefore, action will be taken with our staff to assure this does not happen again. Our guest's comfort is at the top of our purpose and we very much regret when any guest is not happy.

This hotel refuse to cancel the reservation when contacted 15 minutes following the reservation being made by error - which I believe was a system problem. The reservation was booked as nonrefundable, which was discovered when a credit card alert was received on my iPhone. Despite immediately contacting Expedia about the error, and multiple times, the reservation was never cancelled. The reservation was made more than two months prior to the travel planning so there was no time issue. AVOID THIS HOTEL is my recommendation. From my perspective, the customer service is unacceptable. As a closing note, I have consistently found the customer service at Expedia to be polite but useless and ineffective for addressing concerns about bookings or complaints about service.

Very convenient to Emory Village, Virginia Highland. Good location and price. Robert is a real asset to the property. He was very accommodating and helpful with information after we arrived on an early flight from Florida.

Pretty good for the price.
Check in process was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The extra locks in the door made me feel safe, even though it’s a motel so the door leads to the outside, not a hallway. They should not claim they serve breakfast. Plastic wrapped danishes ( like you’d get at 7-11, that don’t go bad for months) and a kind bar and coffee are not a breakfast. It would be nice to have two bars of soap in the room. One for the sink and one for the shower. I’d recommend even a small upgrade on the TP. I noticed the Atlanta airport bathroom TP was thicker. It was clean, safe, warm (it’s 35 degrees out) and fairly quiet.

We requested a handicap room since there was no elevator. The office staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room had not been cleaned recently and there was dust on lamps and kitchen appliances. Towel racks were absent near the sink and out of the wall in the bathroom. We were there for 5 nights and never saw housekeeping. Granted it was over the holidays and they offered to call someone to come back Christmas Eve, we declined. Location was great.

Experienced with micro aggression and unpleasant manner I am sorry to letting you know my unpleasant experience to stay at the University INN at Emory from Nov 11 to 14th ,2023. When I arrived on Nov 11th during the night time around 8pm. I found out the staff provided me an unclean room which was smelly and with used towel. The closet has not closed when I entered the room at the first floor. I asked to change to another room which the Inn has many vacancy rooms. The staff served all late comers who were white customers and asked me to wait, even if the white customers stood after me at a single file and said served her (me) first. The staff still served all white customers firstly until they left the reception.The staff showed the micro aggression to non white customers. Finally the staff gave my the key of 2nd floor room, but i found out the key cannot access the room. My daughter and I stayed outdoor with cold and rainy weather conditions. At last, she provided me the previous unclean room to let us staying in until Sunday. Since Nov 12th, I met every staff who was helpful and nice. Dealing with the non professional staff with showing micro aggression to foreigners, I felt really disappointed. Emory University has many visitor come from all over the world, you have to train up your staff professionally and without micro aggression to every customer. To be honest, I hope this was only an individual unprofessional case, and not because I am non white customer.

We are very sorry we did not meet you expectations and that you were made to feel in any way not accepted. It is not our policy to treat anyone of any race any different. We believe this was a big misunderstanding which we regret. We do acknowledge that the key making system was not working that night. We always leave the closet door open after cleaning so that guests easily see it is empty. We will do everything we can to be sure no one feels uncomfortable. Actually, we are always praised for our outstanding staff, so this is very disheartening for us to have anyone feel uncomfortable as a resulf of how they are treated. We assure you we will address your concerns with all staff.

The property is nothing fancy but the rooms are very spacious and it is very convenient to Emory. I was there for a volleyball tournament and was able to walk to the gym everyday. I liked not having to spend money on Ubers! Emory Village, where there are a number of good restaurants, is also within walking distance. All in all, I found the University Inn to be a good value for the price.

Thank you for your email regarding our mutual customer. I spoke with the customer this morning at 8:45am when he came down for breakfast and ask if we could send maintenance to repair the TV because there was time to check the output, but the guest refused stating they would be checking out shortly. I asked again to make sure they were ok with our maintenance coming to check on the TV and again he said no, "that's ok" and for this reason we will not offer any refunds .

Clean and comfortable, very basic
It's a pretty basic motel, no bells and whistles, which I think is reflected in the price. So, for the price, it's a good value. You can easily walk to Emory campus or Emory hospital from here. I was in a room on the 3rd floor, right at the stairs. I was worried it was going to be noisy, but it was fine. If carrying your luggage up 3 flights of stairs is difficult (no elevator), then you will want to request a room on a lower floor. The "breakfast" is not really a breakfast. There is coffee, a few individual cereal choices with a small carton of milk and store-bought, poor quality, individually wrapped pastries (that would probably last as long as a twinkie). And no place to eat - you are asked to take it back to your room. So, don't expect to eat there. A very inexpensive tip: rather than providing one mini bar of soap, provide two - one for the shower and one for the sink.

Our hotel is older but we feel that we have the ambiance that no other hotel has in the area. With our spacious bedroom rooms and breakfast is quite adequate and nutrious. Convient to Emory Campus and dining options, especially Emory Village. They are undergoing some renovations (exterior, it appears). No elevator on the side I was staying, which meant this older lady had to hoist her bag up to the 3rd floor, with two smaller bags.

Robert was very helpful with providing restaurant/store options and just very kind. The area was very walkable with a nice neighborhood and the path at Emory.

Average hotel, good location near Emory Hospital
The main advantage of this hotel is proximity to Emory Hospital. We could walk from the hotel to the ICU. The hotel rooms we very average, and a bit damp. The breakfast was 'grab and go', packaged dry cereal and coffee.
