Thankfully a nice guest let us in after we wandered around Atami for 2 hours. We had to check in on an iPad, and that was awful too. Again, information that they should have sent me already was not in my inbox so I had to call a virtual assistant and check in took nearly 20 minutes when it would’ve been much easier to just have a front desk person. I understand that being a foreign tourist there might’ve been some difficulties, but all the Japanese tourists were in the same boat we were. So that’s on the hotel. And it’s really a shame, the hotel was beautiful. Spotlessly clean, nice amenities and pretty rooms. Really great hotel with great facilities. The rooms were very large and spacious, definitely not what I was expecting having stayed in other hotels in Japan. The kitchenette, dining area and balcony with sea views were great and was nice to have a morning coffee on the balcony. Coffee, alcohol and snacks are provided complimentary daily in the morning and arvo. There was a Karyoke room and baths although I didn’t try them. Laundry facilities were good. The public pool across the road was great and also has a gym. It’s on the Main Street so walking distance to restaurants and cafes.
