This is a cute, compact 1BR, 1 Bath cottage with great lake access with just a short walk. Good communication from the owner, easy access to Storrs and neighboring towns, and very clean. Loft area has limited space, but the main bedroom is quite comfortable. The only challenges were unrelated to the property (loud neighbors, disputes both nights) and sulfer smell in the water (easily fixed with a Brita pitcher)
The rental was clean and as described. Furniture, electronics, kitchen utensils, place settings & cookware were all good quality. I'm not sure the bed was really a queen. It was small and probably only a full size bed. The backyard has plenty of seating & space for a family. The weather unfortunately, kept us from taking advantage of the fire pit & lake. The lake is very close, maybe 50-80 feet away with a small beach.
Perfect spot to get away and unwind. Very cozy cabin on the lake. We enjoyed a nice fire in the backyard, kayaked in the morning and enjoyed some food on the grill. Very close to Tree House Farm and their Flagship brewery in Charlton. Day trip antiquing and made it to BT’s BBQ (a must).Quiet backroads made the trip from R and travel on our adventures a great way to unwind and appreciate nature.
I enjoyed my stay at Jason‘s cottage. The neighborhood was quiet in the winter, with only a handful of neighbors. Jason was great, communicating, and helpful when I accidentally left a couple things behind.
It is a fun, relaxing home whi h is clean and comfy.Unfortunately, I didn't have the access information to utilize the kyacks and floats. With that said, I will still want to stay at this location again.
I was looking for a peaceful retreat and found it here. Cute cozy cottage with all the necessities and modern upgrades and a nice view of the lake. Jason was great at answering questions and making recommendations for the area to visit. Definitely enjoyed my stay. Oh and watch out for Big Foot.
The property was very clean and the communication with the owner was easy! Jason responded quickly to my messages. The lake was a great addition and the property included kayaks. Would stay again!
Check in was easy, kitchen clean, good wifi, easy for us to get to. House is cute and cozy and very quiet and my husband enjoyed fishing from the kayak. However, couldn't really enjoy Mother's beach because very small area and no "sand" but dirt and rocks, also neighbor's very close to beach and their dog would bark at us. But overall had a good time!
The lake house was beautiful and peaceful. They’re were a few concerns the bedroom upstairs smelled musty the dishwasher smelled like mildew the towels were were old & looked used no new soap for the guest a felt like it was an overpriced stay.
There were many things we appreciated about this little cottage! The photos of the decor first attracted us to it. It was fun and creative just like the photos. It was very, VERY clean. The kitchen was well stocked with a lot of little extra touches and ways to make coffee or tea. The furniture was well maintained and comfortable and the king bed was comfortable. The bathroom towels were fluffy and white. Nightlights inside and solar lights outside were very helpful in navigating the dark. Communication with our host, Ashlea, was great - she responded quickly! And graciously let us check in an hour early as well. There was a nice neighborhood across the street with sidewalks where we walked our dog. A few things that could be improved. We couldn't use the back door near where the car was parked because the hardware was broken. So, we needed to bring everything around the house to the front door. That wasn't a big deal but there were grass clippings on the sidewalk and driveway and we had to be careful so we didn't track that into the house or our car. Written instructions on how to adjust the thermostat and keep it from reverting back to a set temperature would have been helpful as well as a note on the nuance of pushing the start button twice on the washing machine. Initially, the house smelled fine but after the first night, there was a mildew/musty smell especially in the bathroom. We had to be careful navigating divots on the narrow gravel alleyway to the driveway.
