NOTE: Approx 30 stairs to the beach. Lake levels are lower again in 2023 but there is still lots of beach here. The shoreline changes quite rapidly - it can be sandy or it can be gravelly and that could change in 1 day! There are no weeds and it's fun to find the ever changing sandbars. EXTRA'S: WiFI, Air Conditioning, DVD and Blu-ray Player, 2 Adult and 2 Kids Kayaks, Paddleboard Max 2 well behaved Dogs Parking is available for up to 3 vehicles at the top of the property. And while we understand that the excitement lies closer to the beach, please note that there are approximately 80 stairs leading down to the cottage. But trust us, it's totally worth it! Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels. All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. Max occupancy at all times is 7, violation will result in removal without refund. This property is equipped with a monitoring device (including noise, temp & wifi connections) EXPLORE the AREA: North of Goderich near the community of Kingsbridge you will find lots to do. Go for a round of golf, pickup some fresh bread at Red Burdan Cat Bakery, or head to the farmers market in Goderich, take the kids for ice cream and mini golf. Or go for a tour of a local winery or local coffee roastery! If your more adventurous, take a boat tour or aerial tour - there is a marina and airport nearby and there are a few tours to choose from. This weekend we camping at Point Farms Provincial Park off of Lake Huron. It's our first time here and the beach is enormous!!! I highly recommend visiting this place as its great for families. White sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Water is cold but refreshing with only a little bit of seaweed. The shallow end extends quite far out giving you lots of room to have fun without getting in anyone's way. Bugs aren't too bad either. There is no firewood available within the park but a 30 second drive north outside the park marks a small variety store where you can buy all your camping needs such as fire starters, wood, kindling, and so on. The closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive south towards Goderich called Zehers. From the moment we walked in, we were wowed by the lake views. The cottage is beautiful and had everything we needed. All of the furnishings and fixtures were good quality, which for me made the whole experience even better. We spent lots of time at the beach swimming, kayaking, and watching sunsets (which were never the same twice). We also loved being out on the balcony. The cottage was gorgeous, exactly as described in all the pics. We had lots of room, lovely kitchen with all the amenities! Loved the beverage fridge so we could accommodate all our food in fridge and freezer and our grandkids really enjoyed learning to play Chinese checkers!! The beach was lovely and was good to know ahead of time to pack our water shoes as the lake was rocky. Kids loved collecting the larger rocks and making castles etc in the sand. The deck was lovely and we enjoyed many stunning sunsets. We had our workouts climbing the stairs from the cottage to the parking and from the beach to the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and made many special memories. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and exactly as advertised. We had no problems for the length of our trip. The kids loved walking along the beach (there is a perfect creek to explore about a 150minute walk away) and playing in the water. Being only a 10-minute drive from Goderich allowed us to explore the town and visit the Museum and Historic Gaol as well. The Lookout gave us a fantastic break and we were all relaxed and happy all week. Note: they aren't lying about the stairs. Our 10 y.o. counted 72 stairs from the parking to the cottage and a further 32 stairs down to the beach. It wasn't a problem for any of us but could be a problem for anybody with mobility issues. ##### Jonathan R. Roomy, open concept with cathedral ceiling above, stylish anywhere you look and equipped with all the modern conveniences you can think of, will take your breath away. And yet, it smartly preserves that homey, “cottage” feel, you are really looking for. Especially, with all glassed wall with walkout on spacious deck facing the blue water of Lake Huron. The sunsets from this place are absolutely spectacular. The way the cottage is situated also guarantees total privacy from the outside world. It is also well equipped for exciting activities on private sandy beach. We sure are planning on coming back. Lots of great restaurants and bakeries in nearby Goderich which is indeed "the Prettiest Town in Canada". People were extremely friendly and we couldn't believe how clean the Town was. Would return in an instant but at our age the stairs are a challenge. Easily a 6/5 rating.
