Favorite restaurants were Strada Italiano and Chestnuts. Favorite brewery - chimney rock brewery by lake lure. Their balcony is right on the river. Did the LaZoom city tour. Walking in, I really wanted to love it and give it a 5 star rating. Unfortunately either the upstairs neighbor stomps around in combat boots or the building has no provision for noise reduction. Our first night, the loud stomping (which could have been normal walking if the building has no sound reduction built in) lasted until well after midnight causing a sleepless night for us. The second night wasn’t much better but thankfully ended by 11:45 pm. This is a very clean, modern and comfortable unit, but we would never stay here again based on the noise issues. ##### John E.
