Guest Access:
You’ll have private access to the entire studio. Entry is via a smartlock—code sent 2 days before check-in.
The Neighborhood:
If you want to explore West Asheville, there's a great website OnHaywood dot com (spelled out because Airbnb removed the link). This website has links and info on West Asheville restaurants, shops, music venues, clubs and businesses. Haywood Rd is the main street in West Asheville. Our Airbnb is on Haywood Rd, on the east side, between the River Arts District and central West Asheville. Some people call it "East West Asheville" because it is the east side of west Asheville.
Some of my favorite places on Haywood Road are (in no particular order):
Coffee Shops:
Battle Cat
Odds Cafe
Izzy's Coffee Shop
Breakfast:
King Daddy's Chicken and Waffles
Sunny Point Cafe
Biscuit Head
West End Bakery
Lunch and Dinner:
West End Bakery (lunch only)
Zia Taqueria
Taco Billy's
Nine Mile (Jamaican Pasta)
Buffalo Nickel
The Admiral (dinner)
WALK
Standard Pizza
Banditos
Breweries/Pubs:
Oyster House Brewery
Universal Joint
UpCountry Brewing
The Wedge Brewery (River Arts District)
Urban Orchard (cider)
Westville Pub
Music Venues:
ISIS (music and restaurant)
The Mothlight
The Grey Eagle (River Arts District)
Dive Bars:
The Double Crown
Desoto Lounge
The Odditorium
Groceries:
Westvillage Market (organic bodega style store)
Ingles Grocery (conventional grocery store)
I hope this helps, but feel free to let me know if you have questions.
Getting Around:
Walk to local restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Downtown and River Arts are just a quick drive or Uber away.
Other Things to Note:
This is an upstairs unit with private entry. Please note there’s no elevator. This apartment sits above a separate lower-level unit and next door to a working lumber yard — daytime noise is common, especially on weekdays. It’s walkable to the best of West Asheville, but expect some city bustle. Not ideal for light sleepers or those seeking total seclusion.
Interaction with Guests:
We’re here if you need anything, but you’ll have full privacy and autonomy.

Pristine clean and comfy spot. This was a perfect place for a couple of nights in Asheville. Walkable to all local venues. Well-stocked with local coffee and bath essentials. Will definitely stay here again.
Good location, and easy in and out. Poor window coverings, and the lighted exit signs did allow for a lot of light at night, so for me that made sleep difficult. Easy to walk to the river arts district, and right in the middle of west Asheville shops and restaurants.
very nice accommodations in an urban but secluded setting. Furnishings are very nice, nice kitchen, bath, deck. Was very pleased with location.
West Asheville has some interesting restaurants, bars, coffee houses. Location is located in the middle of them but private from street and neighbors..
Very convenient to downtown area and freeways, bike paths, easy to get around.
Excellent communications with Host, check in procedure was very easy and accurate.
This apartment is across the street from everything you need. Walking distance to coffee shop, tacos, dinner and night entertainment. The kitchen is duly stocked. But really I only used the ice and water out of the fridge.
My partner & I booked this for our anniversary. We had no idea it was RIGHT across the street from our favorite karaoke spot (double crown on sundays) & coffee shop (battle cat). We had dinner right next door at the admiral & it was amazing. The bed was super comfy & while across the street from bars, it was extremely quiet. We were able to sit on the porch and listen to music from the cellarest at sunset as well. Highly recommend! Will definitely be visiting again!
Excellent place for a short stay with 2 people. A little tough to find from the street, so make sure you have the instructions handy :) very clean, comfy beds, adorable decor. Bruce was very attentive as well!
We only stayed for 2 nights, but this place was perfect for our needs. We were able to walk to some great restaurants and everything else was a short drive. The place itself was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
This apartment is in such a great location. We were just steps away from great coffee and food. There were also nice shops nearby. It was so nice to be able to walk to restaurants and stores. It was also close to ramps for highways that made it easy to get to hiking destinations.
Perfect after we resolved a slight hiccup with the heat. Owner was very responsive and had good communication overall. Location is amazing - walkable to all of our favorite West Asheville bars and restaurants .definitely plan to return!
4 minor issues: (1) I found the tv services to be complicated and difficult to use, and substandard overall when compared to services such as AT&T U-Verse. (2) Some of the wall plug-in receptacles seem to have loose power connections, or are defective. (3) I would have felt more secure, esp for my vehicle, if the parking area and apt entrance door were under constant video surveillance. (4) Porch light doesn't work; may just be a burnt out bulb.
We had a great stay at this property. The location was quiet, tucked away off the street, and had plenty of parking. And being able to walk to some of the best restaurants and bars in town was a nice bonus! The apartment itself was impeccably clean and stocked with everything you could need for a stay. I loved the little touches as well- the bed was very comfy, and the space was thoughtfully decorated. We’d be happy to come back for future trips.
cute, small VRBO in a relatively good location. walking distance to restaurants which is nice. the back parking lot was a little sketchy in that there seemed to be a lot of people who would just park there for nearby restaurants. there was also a staircase that went right up to the deck that anyone could potentially access.
We really enjoyed our stay at West Nest. The property was very clean and well decorated. The bed was comfy. There was space to sit and chill. And the location was perfect for us. Close to Hole Doughnuts, breweries, and good food. We will definitely be staying again.
I stayed here while working and I loved the location being so close to the highway, with so many restaurants and bars close by. There’s plenty of parking off street which also was a huge plus. A perfect place for me while I was there!
