Recent complete remodeling. Where the unit fails is the size of the bedrooms that would have been much more suited to queen sized beds. The bathrooms were not as carefully remodeled; the floor in the master bedroom was just kind of pieced together. The bathrooms are very small but normal for the age of the building. The noise level from the street was as if you had the windows open…needed ear plugs to sleep. And the amount of noise from the surrounding apartments was also annoying. The gap at the bottom of the entry doors made for very noisy neighbors. The linens, towels, shower curtains, and bedding was thread bare. There was no tea kettle as not everyone drinks coffee. The bathrooms were very small with very slow running drains. As this was a late Oct. visit, the air conditioning was running but no heat. The management company responded immediately and when the heat was finally turned on, the whole apartment smelled like a burning element and there was a layer of soot all over the apartment. If location is important, this VRBO was perfect. However, if comfort and cleanliness is important, the place was a disappointment. Price for comfort was not equal. ##### Patricia S. It was spacious, quiet, clean and well-appointed. The location is about a 20 minute walk to downtown which was fine during the day, but crossing past highway entrances felt a little risky (visibility) at night. Since parking downtown can be difficult this was a bit of a drawback to the location but if it had been closer to downtown it probably wouldn’t have been so quiet at night. The cafe downstairs had great pastries and there is a starbucks about a block away. Trader Joes and Whole Foods are about a half mile away. The second bedroom’s bed is against a wall on one side so it’s a little more difficult to share that bed. Also the property is showing some of it’s age with chipped bathroom tiles and a bit of crumbling particle board or whatever on the bathroom vanity . Convieniet location, and very clean 2-bedroom condo. We were minutes away from all the restaurants, art, hikes and shops in and near Asheville. And we found it in Asheville. The King James Building is ideally situated with all points of interest a mere 3miles away. We spent hours on the Riverfront Art District, checked out West Asheville and wandered downtown. Our apartment was perfect for two couples fully equipped with kitchen and morning coffee (although we also indulged the bakery mere steps from the front door). ##### John S. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay. The area around the condo is loaded with great restaurants within walking distance and is a terrific area to get in a daily walk. It's close to everything and just a five minute drive to downtown Asheville. The condo is nicely decorated and we had all we needed in the kitchen (we did not cook in the condo). The only issue was very slow internet.
