Find hotels in Arpenans from £31

The best area to stay in Arpenans is the village centre itself, particularly around the main square.

This area is the heart of Arpenans and offers a peaceful, authentic experience of rural Bourgogne. You'll find the local boulangerie, a small grocery store, and the church within easy walking distance. The streets are narrow and winding, lined with traditional stone houses, and the pace of life is wonderfully slow.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. It's superb for leisurely strolls, enjoying local wines, and experiencing the quiet charm of the French countryside. The surrounding vineyards are easily accessible for exploration.

For families, particularly those with younger children, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, perhaps in a gîte or a larger rental property with a garden, can be a good option. These properties often offer more space and privacy, allowing children to play freely.

The best times to go to Arpenans are during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant for exploring the region.

In spring, the countryside awakens with lush greenery and blooming flowers, making it ideal for leisurely walks or cycling through the vineyards. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 12°C to 20°C, great for enjoying outdoor activities without the summer heat. This period also sees fewer crowds than the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Autumn brings the grape harvest, known as vendanges, which is a significant event in Bourgogne. The vineyards are a spectacle of golden and russet hues, and many local festivals celebrate the new wine. Temperatures are similar to spring, usually between 10°C and 18°C, creating comfortable conditions for wine tasting tours, visiting local markets, and enjoying the seasonal cuisine.
