"This hotel is a gem! The room was spacious and clean. Loved the tropical garden surroundings; plenty of bird species, some toucans, sloths, anteaters, all visible in the surrounding trees! Just marvellous! The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. And it was just slightly off the beaten path so not in the downtown hubbub, but very walkable to everything. Highly recommend this hotel! "

"Very nice property with beautiful landscape. They have a restaurant with complimentary breakfast. The room could use blackout curtains and softer beds but overall we were comfortable. "

"Overall, very pleased with the cleanliness of the bungalow and the grounds. The path to each bungalow is well maintained and gives a real jungle feel. David at the front desk greeted us at check in and made us feel welcome. The free breakfast was also delicious. The air conditioning worked well and cooled down the room nicely. A few comments: -Not worth it to get the room with the private outdoor jacuzzi. There is no cover on it so within a day there was rainwater and leaves in it. Also, they only allow one towel per person so we couldn’t get any extra clean towels to use with it. Very disappointed in that- they expect you to take a shower and use a dirty towel from the jacuzzi? Because of those things, we never ended up using it. -It truly feels like upscale camping because you can hear the cicadas and other animals quite loudly in the room. The sound of the rain was the worst. It is VERY loud inside the room so if it started raining hard (which it often does), it woke us up. If you like a more traditional hotel feel this may not be the place for you!"

"Beautiful house, love thats its tucked into the forest overlooking a stream! Layout was great for my family of five, although the loft never quite cooled down enough so we pulled the mattresses down to the main floor, which was cooled nicely by the AC. Host was fantastic, very helpful, great location for exploring Fortuna! Love the balcony, hammock was a favorite, only disappointment (and reason for 4 stars) was the large house construction 25yds away across the stream, metal grinding and hammering until 5pm and resuming again at 7:30am. We only stayed the one night so unsure if this is typical, but probably will be a few more weeks by the looks of it. Once its done, no doubt the peace of the beautiful setting will be restored!"
