This was my favorite hostel out of all the hostels I stayed in in Costa Rica. The blending of beautiful scenery with a bar overlooking the river and the hamburgers were amazing and so are the night walks!!

I stayed in the Viajero for 3 days it was on the best part of my stay in Costa Rica. The people were amazing I loved the staff. The food was great. In general, the people that were staying there were amazing truly a great experience.

I absolutely LOVED my stay at Viajero La Fortuna! The location was amazing and super walkable, with tons of restaurants, shops, and activities nearby. One of my favorite thingd was the weekly activities calendar, which listed all the evening events at the hostel and different experiences you could join. It made it easy to meet people and find things to do! The common areas were perfection, with so many cute spots to sit, relax, and hang out. The kitchen was great, and the pool was a fun bonus. Overall, Viajero had the PERFECT balance of social activities, relaxing, and such a great location. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend for anyone visiting La Fortuna.

Viajero Hostel was a wonderful stay with friendly staff who were wonderful, kind and warm. The facilities are quite new and nice, nice activities and opportunities to meet others. Also offers lots of additional services such as food, massages and decent priced activity prices. My room was very nice, although a bit dim with the lighting and some loud machine noises at night. Besides that it was lovely, would book again!

Female solo traveler review 🪴🌸✨ One of the best things about staying at hostel chains as a solo traveler is the consistency in quality and service, and this one definitely delivered. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and I really appreciated how well-organized and enjoyable their activities are (salsa and bachata classes, nature tours, etc.). The facilities are consistently clean, including the bathrooms, and rooms are cleaned daily along with the beds. Extra points for having female-only dorms, it makes a big difference. The space is relatively new, so they’re still finishing up some details, like fully equipping the kitchen. The biggest highlight for me was the coworking area. It’s beautiful, has air conditioning, and offers plenty of comfortable spaces for remote work. There’s also a lovely area to eat with a river view, plus a dedicated yoga space. Overall, it’s one of the most complete hostels I’ve stayed at. It has a social vibe, but it’s not a party hostel, which I personally loved. The bar closes at 10 pm, and there’s a strong emphasis on quiet hours, while still being very friendly and easy to meet people. A few areas for improvement: the Wi-Fi can be unreliable at times, the rooms can get quite hot (since the AC is controlled by staff), and there are limited vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it!

We loved our private room at this hostel and the pool was nice and it had a great area to hangout around and the place to do yoga was pretty as it overlooked a small flowing creek however it did need to be better maintained as there was lots of bat guano on the ground and some of the yoga mats and blocks, the food at the kitchen/bar there was good as well but they also had a nice kitchen you could cook your own meals in. Staff was mostly friendly aside from one of the ladies however it was not so bad that i would rate it low just from her attitude, overall i liked the area and felt safe there

The hostel itself was fine, but I had a serious issue with payment. I paid for my reservation through Expedia and was then charged again by the hostel at check-in for the same booking. I contacted the property through Expedia and by email but received no response. Expedia has opened a case and is investigating the duplicate charge. I hope the matter is resolved soon, but the lack of communication from the hostel has been disappointing.

Laundry was 15$ USD which is like 22$ Canadian . Very expensive . The atmosphere was super awkward and unwelcoming felt like a middle school dance lol . People weren’t that nice and just felt all over awkward . And every activity they had to sign up for was way more pricey than the ones on the website and for the free choyin hotsprings they charged 15$ person . The lights barely worked as well was super dim. If you’re on a budget sure go ! But was not my thing. I would’ve left if I didn’t already pay in full. Just did not have a good energy or atmosphere. But good location. HORRIBLE parking as well. Can barely fit the cars in the parking lot. And they shut the gates at night which forces your car to stop in the middle of the road to ask someone to open them. Very dangerous .
