The view from the back deck makes you feel like you are living in a treehouse and, when the conditions are right, you can even hear the relaxing sounds of crashing waves. Enjoy the short walk (8 houses) to the woodsy path leading down to the beautiful and uncrowded Hidden Beach, see photos. This completely renovated 2,000 sf, three bedroom, 3 bath home is a perfect place to escape, unwind and settle into the low key lifestyle that is Aptos. This 2-story home sits on a hillside and features a modern, updated floor plan for a relaxed vacation. On the main level of the home is a gourmet kitchen with an island, state of the art appliances and a dining area with seating for 10\. The living room has a vaulted knotty pine ceiling, large sectional couch, game table, pellet stove and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canyon and golf course with sliding doors to a full wrap-around entertaining deck. The den has vaulted beamed ceiling, leather queen sofa sleeper, built-in stone desk top and 55” HDTV. The large master suite has a cal king bed with dual shower heads and dual sinks in the bathroom. There is also a full guest bathroom on the main level. The master and guest baths are newly renovated and elegantly designed with top quality stone counters and floors. The spacious lower level includes guest bedroom 2 with luxurious queen bed and sliding door to wrap-around deck, and guest bedroom 3 with another luxurious queen bed, large picture window and surfboard on the wall. A large updated bathroom with rainfall shower head. The family room has 9’ knotty pine ceilings, 65” flat screen HDTV, and leather queen sofa sleeper. There is also a full size washer and dryer. We absolutely loved our week in this home. The location is perfect, quiet yet minutes to everything we wanted to do. The house is spacious, cozy, organized and clean. The layout was perfect for our family and the decor is beautiful and inviting. It was such a relaxing environment to wake up in and come back to each day. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the cozy blankets everywhere was such a plus! We walked to the beach almost daily and loved seeing deer along the way. We enjoyed cooking meals in the spacious kitchen and there was everything we needed and more to do so. We loved the big beach wagon and the assortment of beach toys and games. All in all, a wonderful place to stay! We will definitely be back! ##### Sarah M. The home itself has been beautifully renovated by someone with great taste. The bathrooms and kitchen are gorgeous. The home is also very large, nestled in a quiet neighborhood, and private. The top level of the two-story porch is literally among the trees; you can have your breakfast or look at the stars only feet away from hummingbirds and woodpeckers, and there are owls at night. It is also a short walk past a playground to the beach. We were also able to make reasonable drives to Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Palo Alto, San Jose, San Francisco, and Sausalito. One final note — the house is incredibly well stocked, every supply, beach item, and condiment you can think of. As just one example, there is an expensive pair of field binoculars to use if you enjoy bird or whale watching. ##### Daniel M. We had the most amazing stay at this property! We were blown away by the cleanliness and attention to detail that the owners made to keep this house feeling warm and homey, not like the typical rental home that could sometimes feel bare. This was quite the opposite! The kitchen is more than fully stocked. It was so easy to make a meal, and we made an entire thanksgiving dinner there and we had no issues. Having two living areas was amazing. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It really made a big difference in how comfortable we all were. We traveled with a wide range of ages - 2 years to 75 years old, and it fit everyone perfectly. The owners are the most lovely people ever!!! We had some extra needs during our stay, and I just can’t express how appreciative we were in how they were able to accommodate us. Really wonderful people. The location is a perfect distance to have a nice 15 min stroll to the beach or a quick 5 min drive. And the street the house is on is very lovely and well maintained. Very cute area! We highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay around here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again for everything Lisa!!! We all agreed it was the best-stocked kitchen we'd experienced at a short-term rental, my bed was possibly the best I have ever slept on, wonderful bathroom--everything was perfect. Lisa was super responsive and helpful, and the walk to Hidden Beach provided some unexpected wildlife sightings: humpback whales and sooty shearwaters by the thousands. Watching deer and a fox beyond the back deck in the beautiful woods was an added delight! The house is artfully & tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and has a fully equipped, modern kitchen and state of the art bathrooms, as well as very comfortable beds and linens. My family came to Santa Cruz to attend my son‘s graduation from UC Santa Cruz. This home was a perfect retreat for our family. It has an amazing amount of charm and exudes a relaxed atmosphere- the views of all the foliage around make you feel like you are in the mountains. It has all the amenities that you could ask for and we were even greeted with a nice message and bottle of wine! The owners have thought of everything to make you feel at home. This home was perfect for our family getaway! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking with larger families in mind.
