The staff were friendly, the room was clean an comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Would have been nice to have some vegetables in the breakfast. Was nice and warming to have 24h hit Cider and apples available.

Very nice place to stay. Staff very friendly and welcoming .
Lovely breakfast baskets available (additional charge).
Only improvement would be cleaning of room . We got a message while out asking if we would like the room cleaned that day with a circa 3 hour window that cleaners were available . We asked for it to be and unfortunately it wasn’t when we returned. Put it down to message system delays but think better system needed than this. Definately worth visiting though .

Nicely decorated and comfortable room in a good location. The only negative for us was a damp smell coming from the bathroom- maybe an issue with the sink drainage which seemed slow. Otherwise a good one night stay.

The welcome on arrival was really good and made to feel like a relative visiting,
The room was spacious though furniture is a little dated, it was cleaned everyday spotlessly. Great place to use as a base to explore Milford and the surrounding area.
Nice to be able to sit on the porch after a busy day with a nice glass of wine and watch the sunset. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Lovely hotel for a one night stay during our roadtrip. Unfortunately we were too early for the fall colours - but I can imagine they are spectacular from this hotel. Lovely touches at this hotel but be sure to book ahead for breakfast and dinner as they book up fast!! Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool due to bad weather. The hot tub looked a bit tired. Good breakfast but not a buffet.

Appalachian Mountains and its attractions for beach lovers
While the Appalachian Mountains are not traditionally associated with sandy beaches, the region does offer stunning lakes and rivers that provide a beach-like experience amidst breathtaking mountain scenery. One highlight is Lake Lure, where families can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and even a bit of kayaking, all while surrounded by the dramatic backdrop of the Blue Ridge mountains. The picturesque beaches at Fontana Lake also promise a relaxing day out, with opportunities for picnicking and fishing along its shores. For thrill-seekers, the nearby Nantahala River offers exciting white-water rafting adventures, adding a splash of adrenaline to your trip. The charming town of Asheville is a must-visit, with its vibrant arts scene and local breweries, providing a perfect blend of culture and relaxation after a day spent by the water. Staying at hotels in the Lake Lure area allows for easy access to these activities, with many properties offering family-friendly amenities and stunning views right from your balcony. Enjoy the convenience of having both relaxation by the water and access to the rich outdoor adventures of the Appalachian region, making your stay a delightful mix of leisure and excitement.
