"I traveled to Erietta for 3 nights with my two daughters in October, and we had a great experience. The staff were welcoming, friendly and understanding upon arrival, and even had our room ready early. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. The restaurant on site is open for snacks all day, and they serve the most amazing breakfast we've ever had included with a hotel stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a beautiful view of Kefalonia across the sea..the showers were so nice that even...

Top Ano Vasilikos Hotel Reviews

Caretta Beach Resort & Waterpark

10/10 Excellent

"Great hotel for families, lots of entertainment, kids club, on site waterpark and amusements."

Marelen Hotel

8/10 Good

"The housekeeping team did a great job of keeping our room clean and tidy however they are hampered by not having the right size sheets for the beds. A double bed is not 2 singles pushed together so when hotels do this the sheets do not fit making each nights sleep uncomfortable and annoying. Staff at the restaurant were welcoming and friendly and the buffet was always very well presented, re supplied and with lots of choice. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We did not use the pools but they looked well looked after. The hotel is very well located, just a short walk down the road to the blue flag awarded Kalamaki beach. The hotel is on the flight path for the nearby airport but this did not bother us at all. We had a hire car and there is a small free car park to use and there is space on the road outside also. We had an issue with the safe when we arrived and this was sorted promptly. We recommend this hotel."

Tzante Hotel Zakynthos - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"The staff were amazing and the level of hospitality made me feel like family. We were however quite disappointed with our room. The electricity was constantly tripping, the hairdryer they provided was making it trip. And if you had too many lights on at once the electricity would shut down too. The AC was quite temperamental and there was one day our room was stuck at 30 degrees but we were told by a member of staff that it was still cool in our room (?). Also even though we stayed in the more modern, updated rooms the sink kept leaking and it smelt of sewage."

Klelia Beach Hotel - All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"The hotel and staff are great. Beautiful pool and hotel. What you don't know until you get there that this is for families with young children, and couples over 55 that don't want to leave the hotel. There is nothing in the area to do except to go to the beach, which does not have beach bars. But everything with the hotel is great."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ano Vasilikos?

The best area to stay in Ano Vasilikos is the main strip along the coast, offering direct access to the beautiful beaches and local amenities.

This area stretches along the shoreline, primarily centred around Gerakas Beach and Porto Roma Beach. You'll find a selection of hotels, villas, and apartments located amongst olive groves, all within a short walk of the sea. The general layout is relaxed, with properties often having private gardens and terraces.

Couples looking for a tranquil and romantic getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The focus here is on relaxation, with quiet evenings, stunning sea views, and excellent local tavernas serving fresh seafood. Many accommodations offer private pools or direct beach access, great for unwinding together.

Families with children also appreciate the convenience of staying right by the beaches. Gerakas Beach, in particular, is known for its shallow, clear waters, making it ideal for younger swimmers.

When is the best time to go to Ano Vasilikos?

The best time to go to Ano Vasilikos is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather for exploring and relaxing, with warm temperatures superb for beach activities and sightseeing without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the island is fully operational, with all restaurants, shops, and attractions open, but with a more relaxed pace.

For those looking for a very quiet escape, late April can also be a good option, as the wildflowers are in bloom, and the island is just beginning to awaken for the season.
