Villa Ferraguzzo , Anghiari, Tuscany, can accomodate sleeps 8 - 14 in 7 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms. The house is a spacious two-floor villa, light-filled thanks to many windows and with terracotta tiled floors and high beamed ceilings. Two living room spacious, with sofas and armchairs. The front terrace overlooks the garden and has a view of the valley and, in the distance, you can see the lights of Citerna . On the covered patio to the other side of the villa, there's a shaded dining table for al fresco dining and leisurely breakfasts, and the adjoining kitchen is fully equipped for self catering, with a pantry and two fridges, enough space to store food for a week. There's also an indoor dining room, allowing plenty of space for the group to spread out. The pool area has 16 sun-beds, chairs, an umbrella, an outdoor shower and sails to provide some shade. The garden is also the perfect tranquil retreat for yoga or meditation. Specific facilities there is one en suite bedroom on the ground floor with direct access to the garden.Air Conditioning in all bedrooms . Situated in the midst of approximately 74 acres of farmlands and forests, the house is surrounded by spectacular, ancient oaks shading meandering stone walls, terraces and flowered walkways that create a welcoming park-like setting, perfect for outdoor barbecuing, dining and lounging. To the side of the house, is an elegant 18 meter by 6 meter swimming pool, providing a beautiful retreat for both relaxation and exercise after a day of sightseeing and shopping in the nearby hill towns. After a busy day of visiting museums, spend some time with friends and family poolside enjoying a glass of wine - a perfect way to unwind at the end the day. This antique lovely holiday villa, with private pool is situated in Tuscany , in the hills above Anghiari , surrounded by softly rolling hills, cultivated fields, and woodlands that bear witness to the strongly agrarian character of Italy through the centuries - a past which has marked the land as clearly as it has shaped the people who continue to work it.The house combines the traditional materials of Tuscan farm architecture - huge, chestnut beams, terracotta floors, stone and painted plaster walls—with all the modern conveniences. The spacious rooms have been furnished with classic Tuscan furniture, made from chestnut and wrought iron, including family pieces that recall an earlier era of Italian country life Windows were enlarged and French doors added to bring the warm Tuscan light inside. The beamed ceilings were preserved, as was much of the beautiful old stonework, but the old floor plan made way for larger rooms, a professionally-equipped kitchen and, most importantly private bathrooms for each bedrooms, seven spacious air-conditioned bedrooms. Dominating the ground floor is a long room divided into living and dining areas with French doors opening to the large and well kept garden. The bedrooms, distributed over the two levels, are grouped around smaller air-conditioned sitting rooms on the first floor. Outside, a beautifully kept garden with extensive lawns wraps around the house. A large patio, makes al fresco dining a pleasure, and the large swimming pool set below on a lawned terrace beckons to those more interested in tanning and swimming than sightseeing Located twenty minutes drive east of Arezzo, Cortona, the property is in easy reach of towns rich in art and history, including Sansepolcro (birthplace of Piero della Francesca and proud keeper of some of his most famous paintings), Anghiari, Monterchi, Citerna, Città di Castello, and Caprese Michelangelo. Slightly farther afield, but still within day-trip range are Florence, Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona, and a chain of Sanctuaries built by Saint Francis and his followers, who sought out wild places of great natural beauty in which to meditate and give thanks. The house was very spacious and comfortable. The outdoor area was great - lovely green lawns and a big private pool plus access to football field, table tennis and boules close by. The local area has many interesting small towns worth visiting and not too touristy. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped for self catering (although a sharp kitchen knife would be useful and we had to ask for baking dishes which were then supplied) and having 2 fridges was very helpful. Die Zimmer im Haus sind grosszügig, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet und die Küche ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Am grossen Pool haben wir wunderbare Erholung und Abkühlung genossen, der Pool wurde auch täglich gereinigt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich, grosszügig und hilfsbereit. Unsere Kinder haben den separaten Spielplatz sehr genossen. Einkauf und alle Infrastrukturen sind in naher Umgebung zu finden. Nous n'avons malheureusement pas eu le soleil escompté, presque toute la semaine a été grise mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de découvrir cette superbe région. We enjoyed the big pool, the possibility to eat outside and the big garden. There are supermarkets and a restaurant close to the Villa. The barbecue isn't close to the kitchen and we didn't find the pool table and the fitness room. All in all we spent a great time there, thank you Luca. ##### Sebastian G. We were a party of 14 (3 families) and stayed at this stunning villa for 14 nights. It has ample room for 14 people and the outside space is amazing (the pool is very large). Nous avons pu découvrir une belle maison, grande et confortable, située sur une très belle propriété permettant de varier les activités de plein air. La piscine, longue de 18 m, est très agréable et bien entretenue. La campagne environnante est paisible, et se prête à des promenades pédestres. Les propriétaires sont attentifs et disponibles. We started looking for a house to rent in Tuscany and she found Villa Ferraguzzo by “accident”. This villa looked too good to be true but she submitted a price request immediately. This villa was just what we had in mind as the whole family, ourselves, our two sons and their families, wanted to go. Three flats with seven bedrooms meant that we also could have visitors. Arriving in Rome in the afternoon and heading north towards Villa Ferraguzzo in the dark was a new experience as the road signs and the GPS didn’t marry up as expected. At 2 o’clock in the morning we arrived Villa Ferraguzzo. Luca and his dad Lido were waiting for us and gave us a warm welcome. Waking up the next day was nothing else but fantastic! The villa, the garden, the pool, the surrounding areas, everything was beyond our expectations. The photos on their website do not serve the villa right! It took us a couple of days to wind down and to understand that we were as close to heaven as we possibly could be still being alive. It is a quiet place and the only noise that could be heard was a few cars on the road close by and some tractors out on the field. We heard the birds singing and the wind blowing gently in the trees. Our grandchildren had a fantastic time, mainly in the pool, enjoying every second of our two weeks stay. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries, Villa Ferraguzzo can be recommended! Villa Ferraguzzo even has its own restaurant in the adjacent building. This restaurant is open on request and they served very good typical Italian food. Luca and his dad Lido doesn’t know the word no. They are doing whatever possible to make the holiday as comfortable as possible. Whatever your request is, they fix it. They were around every day, either to make sure that the stay was as perfect as possible or to cut the lawn, clean the pool or any other maintenance required. Luca organize whatever you want to do, either a trip to see all the fantastic towns in the surrounding areas, a course to learn how to make Italian pizza or anything else such as a visit to a wine producer in Chianti. Luca did also organize a taxi to Arezzo and the train for the departure of our friends. Thank you Luca and Lido, you brought our holiday experience to a whole new level! We stayed 12 days at Ferraguzzo and had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect! The villa is well maintained. The rooms are all beautifully appointed and very spacious. The pool and outside grounds were spotless. Luca and Lido were wonderful hosts and were very helpful with each and every request. Our son is in a wheelchair and the villa is quite accessible! We had 11 people in our group and Ferraguzzo has plenty of space for everyone!! I would recommend this beautiful villa to everyone! We look forward to a return visit!! Grazie Luca e Lido!!!
