The town originally formed out of 14 old farmsteads (once refuges for the shepherds who brought their livestock to the high pastures), today harmoniously integrated into a typical mountain environment of rare beauty. There is a sports park near the centre of Andalo, a green area of over 100,000 m² which has everything you need to play any sport, but also to simply relax: a standard football field with track and field track, mini golf course, climbing gym, a five-a-side football pitch and basketball court and a volleyball court. And there's more: two indoor swimming pools (one for working out, the other for fun with a slide, water games and a hot tub both for adult and child guests). In other words, it's up to you. You can also visit the AcquaIN Spa (perfect for massages, saunas and steam rooms), the ice rink and the horse riding centre. Ice Racing Kart is between Andalo and Molveno, an innovative idea that unites the fun of driving classic go-carts with the advantages of using electric vehicles. On the track you can experience the thrill of safely driving electric go-karts—silent, emission-free and with outstanding performance on either a natural or synthetic ice track.
Andalo and the beautiful mountain territory stretching right up to the Brenta Dolomites provide the ideal backdrop for many other sports activities, like paragliding and hang gliding, jogging or trekking in the forest, climbing, mountain biking and water sports at Lake Molveno, which isn't far away. This lake is perfect for sports buffs who love ploughing the waves on windsurf boards, canoes, sailboats, rowboats or pedalos. During the summer you just have to dive into the crystal clear waters and enjoy the mountain panorama that is all around you from the lake.
Andalo, together with Molveno and Cavedago, is part of the Brenta Dolomites, the heart of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park and the natural backdrop to the Paganella Plateau. The Dolomites, with their imposing rocky indentations, soaring into the sky, are the perfect place for high-altitude trekking and climbing. Among the most famous peaks are: Croz dell’Altissimo (2339 m), Campanil Basso (2883 m) and Cima Tosa (3173 m). Thrilling and evocative with the panoramas they have to offer, there are also challenging trails like the spectacular Via delle Bocchette.
The Adamello-Brenta Nature Park is the largest protected area in Trentino, with one of the richest wildlife populations in the Alps. The park has a surface area of over 600 km² and includes two large areas divided by the dip of the Rendena Valley (most of the mountain range of Adamello-Presanella to the west and the entire Brenta Group to the east). Both in the granite Adamello-Presanella range and in the Brenta Group there are impressive peaks that tower over 3000 m high, and their immense glaciers give origin to raging torrents which descend to the valley, forming majestic waterfalls.
During the winter, Andalo and Fai della Paganella are part of the Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta, one of the most popular ski circuits south of the Alps, with its 140 ski lifts and over 350 km of slopes. Besides the more famous ski resorts, it also includes Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo in Rendena Valley, Folgarida Marilleva, Passo del Tonale in Sole Valley, Ponte di Legno, Monte Bondone and Folgaria Lavarone. The complex guarantees skiing from November to April, thanks to the high altitude of the slopes and the excellent snowmaking systems. In summer or winter the Brenta Dolomites always have something to offer. A holiday in Andalo is a great opportunity to spend a few days of complete relaxation amidst the wildest, most untouched nature.
