Very disappointed in the condition of the hotel. No air conditioning, and our room was on the outside corner which had direct sunlight during the day. The heater was needed at night, but the radiators dis not work. The sheetrock was poorly finished with large seams on the ceiling that looked terrible. The carpet was not well cleaned, and dust had built up on edges around the room. Electrical outlets on the walls were old and did not hold phone chargers. Do not recommend.

Nice middle of downtown experience

Quick late night check-in for one-night stay. Drink vending machine and ice available, charming hotel in the very heart of downtown Anchorage with some nice details, e.g. my window was facing the side of the other building, but some plants in between made it look nicer. Nice bed, furniture and TV, but squeaky wooden floor with carpet. Breakfast without bacon. Free luggage storage. Overall, my stay was a very good experience.

Honteux à ce prix là ! VÀ éviter

Nous avons réservé des mois avant pour dormir dans cet hôtel historique. Nous l’avions choisi pour sa soit disant kitchenette pour pouvoir manger sans ressortir après une longue route. Un mini frigo d’à peine 15cm de profondeur, juste quelques tasses et verres sales mais aucun couvert ni assiettes, pas d’éponge ni de produit vaisselle ni de torchon, rien et sale ! Lavabo fendu, très chaud dans la chambre pas de clim, juste un ventilateur pas pratique. Mouchoir derrière la table de nuit pour brancher le téléphone… La seule chose bien c’était les lits très confortables et propres heureusement car le lendemain matin, un petit déjeuner médiocre que nous n’avons pas pris quand nous avons vu une sdf se servir du café et cracher dans la poubelle ! Sans parler de l’insonorisation. Quelle déception ! 450€ pour ça c’est triste car nous avons eu bien mieux pour moins cher lors de notre séjour. Un piège à touristes à éviter !

Beware of Nooo AC and room 809 is haunted!!!! We kept on hearing either little feet running back and forth or bigger steps at 1am and then again at 5am. Check in was horrible with Maribeth. She gave us a queen bed even though there were Kings available. Our friends, 2 couples, checked in after us and she accused them of using Expedia even though they had Hotels.com printout with King bed on it. Other than Maribeth’s attitude, all other staff was lovely. Beware

We stayed here 2 times on our last vacation, when flying into and out of Anchorage during our weeklong Alaska visit. The location and staff were great. Breakfast was also good, although the pancake machine was down during our second stay. The hotel is very old, historic, has a slight “old odor” on the higher levels. The rooms are a bit small for 2 double bed rooms by modern standards, although that is what the hotel is known for. The staff was friendly to loan us bear spray for our visit, free of charge! Parking costs $20 per night extra

Quaint historic stay with an actual key for our room. Ok breakfast, but enough to start our day. The waffle maker was out of order. The shower curtain was musty and some wall stains. Pricey for just a place to sleep, but this area is high everywhere. I like the history.

Conveniently located in downtown, very close to train station and lots of restaurants and touristy places. Hotel is well decorated but old - no AC/heating (temperature control) in room (had a standing fan). One woman in front desk was friendly and helpful while the other woman was snappy and rude.
