This hotel is at a perfect location as it's not too close to central Amsterdam yet there are tourist attractions such as Rijksmuseum and Vincent van Gogh museum only 5 minutes walk away. Vondelpark is also not much further away. There is even a mini red light district along Ruysdaelkade about 5 minutes away and there are good grocery stores and bars nearby for food, drinks and fun. Amsterdam's great transport system gets you to central Amsterdam in few minutes.
The quality of the hotel however is low as the lift/elevator is very small, the windows aren't soundproof so you can hear outdoor activities very well even when the windows are closed, and the beddings can be cleaner too. The shower is nice though and probably the newest or most recently developed part of the room but some rooms don't have enough leg room when using the toilet.
The staff are GREAT though and helpful so it'd be nice if this hotel gets upgraded more.

Great stay with very welcoming staff, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Only negative is that when we arrived we had a fan in our room, however whilst we where out someone had come in to remove it on the hottest day of the year so far and had to get reception to retrieve another as on the top floor where our room was really held heat - the reception staff had said it was cleaners, however the room had not been cleaned and the bin had not been empty.
That being said, pleasant stay overall, only improved by the very friendly hotel cat!
The property doesn't allow food in the room. We prefer properties that allow it. Also the stairs are very dangerous. We used the elevator to avoid them.
Worst hotel I've stayed in for a very long time. Filthy, tatty and generally unloved. Even levied a deposit on check-in in case of damage to room - as if they could tell or even be bothered to check.
Avoid if possible; a park bench would be more comfortable and welcoming.
