centrally located neat & clean basic hotel
we stayed two nights, two bedrooms, two couples. Excellent value for money. neat & clean hotel. helpful staff. basic hotel with no frills but good comfortable rooms with all amenities in rooms. Good for tourists who roam around whole day and come back to hotel for sleep centrally located.

Good location, away from the main street inside a narrow lane. This keeps the traffic noise away and so the room is quiet and peaceful. Room service is prompt and excellent. Food is awesome-- tasty, fresh, satisfying yet not heavy/filling. Bathroom has both hot and 'hot&cold mix' water. Overall, a good experience.

Nice value hotel.
Nice value hotel in a quiet side street. It’s only R100 tuk tuk ride into the Golden Temple complex. Hotel staff were friendly and informative although you have to ask as they don’t bombard you with info as soon as you arrive. The room was large and bed comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. If you’ve travelled India you will appreciate that the hotels are not spotless as we come to expect in the West. If you can’t cope then stay at the Oberoi or Taj - I don’t think there are any in Amritsar. Anyway, you’ll enjoy the Hong Kong Inn and the Golden Temple is absolutely breathtaking.

Close to Centre by tuk tuk.
The hotel room was large and comfortable. Good 24hr room service for food. Desk staff very helpful in arranging tuk tuks, tours and transfers to the airport. The area around the Golden Temple has been pedestrianised for the last 4 years and it really improves the experience of the visit. Loved the inclusiveness, generosity and friendliness of everyone at the temple also providing food and drink free (donations accepted) and lodgings too for weary travellers. Truly a beautiful, temporal place. Other places of worth but not advertised that well is a laser show showing the development and history of the site and the meanings behind the rituals which take place during the day. The night visit is a must as the lights all reflect off the central golden temple and water (the pool of nectar - meaning of Amritsar). Also the Partition Museum in part of the old town hall is excellent. It covers all the people affected by Partition following Independence in 1947.

Close to train station, and convenient.
There isn't too much to say about this place. Our room was pretty standard, clean and concise. A short walk to restaurants and the train station. We only stayed one night so we weren't involved with the staff much at all. They were nice enough to let us check in early.

Not the cleanest hotel.
The only pleasant part is the very helpful front desk stuff and the tasty room service dinner. Rooms are dirty and bathroom has a very bad odor.

The staff is very helpful and accommodating.the location is perfect and in mid way to all important Market's eating joins . The lane and hotel has easy access to transportation both private and local . Extremely comfortable stay .After eating quit spicy and greasy food from famous Bhabi's Honk Kong in offers great home made food which is good when your traveling with elders .

Clean and friendly hotel
A typical hotel for indian clientle based in a narrow alleyway off Queens Road. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel also provided a 15 % discount for local restaurant crystal, which is worth trying. The room was large enough but the bathroom was quite small. Breakfast had to be ordered from the room and bought to your room. There is no restaurant in this hotel. The hotel is quite a distance away from the golden temple and therefore not a walkable distance.

Nightmare for safety & no beds supplied for kids
We booked from Hotels.com 7 nights,we greeted family and inspected the room. We asked for Double bed and roll out single bed +cot.After kids napping on beds nothing came or fixed. Requested again and said only on availability, though I have confirmation email and another email direct from Hotel that this is available. Also on Hotel.com website was free cot, this also confirmed and then NOT AVAILABLE, and never had cots.Family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 children including toddler & baby). This is the worst hotel for families!! There was no way the adults could sleep in the room since the children could not have bedding supplied, and to make the first night in Amritsar more of a nightmare the door had only a button lock. The type of lock a child can open, and leave the room so I could not sleep when children napped. We could not stay, we booked Hotel Sawera Grand, we were jet lagged and needed to sleep and hotel argued it was only on availability, but never had cots. The new Hotel was much more expensive but none other were available. After family dinner with relatives that we can't stay nor sleep at your hotel since what was asked was not supplied,so an argument ensued where Hotel going on about policy and payment where we had not even stayed one night, but we are paying them for the night and want to go new hotel. We booked through Hotels.com, they said it came from Expedia- cancel online they said then get money back, hotels.com said won't get money back. All liars. Sham

Our stay was not as good as expected. Poor room service. We ordered something for breakfast but they gave us something else. Wifi not working at all. Only thing that we liked was the mattresses and bed sheets for comfortable stay.

Nice hotel off quiet street
Pleasant stay. Travelling as a family group the inter-connecting rooms were very welcome. Breakfast was OK although there is not a proper restaurant with breakfast served in your room or the lobby area.

Clean and convenient Hotel
The hotel was clean and away from the main bazaar area, so a good retreat from all the hustle and bustle. But a 15 minute ride to most places. Check in and out were seamless and the staff were all satisfactory.

A small cosy and caring hotel
Stayed there for two nights. A warm welcome made the difference. Check-in was fast despite some check-outs. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Being a new property everything is spik and span. Seen a Manager personally supervising the cleaning. Service is excellent and food was yummy.

GOOD LOCATION, GOOD VALUE
Good location about (10) minute ride to Golden Temple. Large and comfortable room with table and chairs for in-room dining. Complimentary breakfast served in your room; fridge also with well stocked snacks at cheap prices. Neighborhood and good dining options. Overall good value

Hotel Hong Kong Inn is surely one of the best choice for a family stay in Amritsar.
