Taxis are expensive and the road is very busy and very noisy. The rooms are also smaller than expected. You will need to work out the air con and TV as no instructions supplied and there is no tea or coffee. However 45min later taxi never arrived and we were late to the farry andntp the airport. When I asked that obnoxious employee for a refund, he told me they don't give refunds for taxi in Italy and its not his problem the taxi didn't arrive. LITERALLY! The main selling point is the amazing sea views. Going to town is a 20-30 minute walk so not too bad by the views are worth being out of Amalfi a bit! However, we had a lot of ants show up at night without there being food in the room. The beach is down the side of the cliff, at least 15 flights of stairs. The rooms are very clean and the beds are hard. Limited amenities. Parking was 40 eur and the walk to almafi was about 20 minutes. Easy to get bus back to hotel. Check in was through another attached hotel with different name and this wasn’t communicated to us so it made for great difficulty trying to find parking along road and walking to try and find hotel that wasn’t posted on the building apart from a piece of paper on the door. The view from the room was beautiful, but small terrace with no seating. The bed was 2 twins pushed together unfortunately and quite uncomfortable. Unbelievable view. Hotel is about 1 mile north of Amalfi citta’ centro. Walkable if you want to get some walking in. Otherwise, buses pass often as indicated from Pogerola or Sorrento to Amalfi. My only downside is I didn’t get the balcony as booked. Great view excellent customer service. The bad 2 minutes of hot water in the shower.
