"We found the staff here very welcoming. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and we wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Our stay was enjoyable and very reasonably priced. "Highly recommend! This hotel is a tiny bit dated but otherwise the best hotel I’ve stayed at this year. We stay at hotels at least 6-8 times a year between my kids different competitions and will be recommending this hotel to anyone staying in Peterborough. Staff were great, pool was heated, hot tub was actually hot. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Appreciated the free breakfast that had early hours so I could actually use it. Parking lot is huge and has spots close to all areas of the hotel. Book here:)"

"It’s a basic hotel. We got in town late and left in the morning so it served its purpose. The TV in our room didn’t work and it looked a little run down but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was good. If you just need a place to rest your head this place will do. The staff were great and very friendly."

"My wife, our dog and I had an excellent stay at the Checkerboard guest house in Cobourg. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and as advertised, and was only about 2km from downtown. Our host, Tish, was easily available and responsive to our requests. We needed a pet friendly place, and this fit the bill perfectly!"
