* AWD/4x4/chains required in the winter * Did we already mention that this home is located at 10,000 ft on rural mountain roads? In the Colorado High Rockies, we can expect consistent snowfall October through May. At this elevation, you may even see snow in June and and July on occasion! The main access road, Quartzville Rd, is maintained by the county and is regularly plowed after each snowfall and the driveway will be plowed if it snows over 4 inches, but having an AWD/4x4 vehicle is required in winter and recommended year-round for this home.

Colorado Traction Law: From September through May 31, the Colorado Traction Law is in effect for all drivers traveling on I-70 between Morrison and Dotsero as well as US-285 to Breckenridge . This law mandates that vehicles must be equipped with either four-wheel or all-wheel drive and snow-rated or mud + snow tires. Alternatively, vehicles with two-wheel drive must have winter tires, chains, or other traction devices. Ensuring your vehicle is properly equipped is essential for safe winter driving in Colorado. If you’re renting a car, be sure to confirm with your rental company that your vehicle meets these requirements.
Important Winter Advisory: Please be aware that during the winter months, roads and driveways are likely to be snow-covered or icy, making four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) essential for safe travel. We are unable to offer refunds for vehicles that get stuck or require towing, and unfortunately, we cannot assist with towing or vehicle recovery. Additionally, some properties may require 4WD or AWD even during non-winter months due to uneven terrain and dirt roads. If you have any questions about your rental, feel free to reach out to us for further details.

Great getaway cabin with easy access to surrounding areas. House is well kept, clean, feels safe and well stocked. Comfortable size for 4 adults. Additional twin beds throughout house are in tight spaces but would work well for kids.

We loved the property, it was very beautiful! It was very quiet and safe.
Appreciated being able to have our dog with us. Check-in and -out were very easy. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of sleeping areas. More stairs than expected, both in the cabin and getting to the cabin. A friendly fox visited several times. The kitchen had the requisite cookware and utensils, but a little sparser than other cabins we've rented. No dishwasher, which was unexpected.

Gorgeous cabin
This is the coziest cabin while being so stylish and cute. It has beautiful views with huge windows making you feel like youre in woods. Its so close to hiking spots and great restaurants in town. 10/10 would recommend.
Everything about the cabin was unique. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that during heavy winds, there was a tree that would rub against the house and made a very loud scraping noise that made it difficult to sleep. Also, Google maps says to take a left on Ridge Rd. But in reality it is a left on CR6.Other than that, it was a great visit, skied 3 days and the snow was wonderful. Highly recommend this placewould run

Beautiful
Stunning views and super cozy house. 10/10 would recommend. The one small thing was the cleaner smell was SO strong when we first got there, so would be nice if they toned that down a little.
Cabin is settled nicely among pines and aspens. Interior was clean and cozy. Outdoor scenery was beautiful and fortunate to see fox and bear (with two cubs) walk by. Enjoyed the fire pit and making s'mores. Caught our limit fishing Montogomery Reservoir a few short miles away. Breckenridge was fun and only 25-30 minutes away. Communication with property manager and check-in were excellent. Nice, relaxing weekend overall.
It was such a beautiful location! Far enough you felt secluded but close enough to towns and even neighbors that made you feel a bit more comfortable (if you go up in the winter weather which we did) the home was absolutely lovely, the views from the house was gorgeous. The kitchen had all the utensils you need to make meals!
The only thing I recommend is bring lots of water!
**Rating: 3.5/5**Overall, we had a good stay with strong communication from the rental agency, which made check-in and any questions easy to handle. The property was well stocked with essentials—plenty of bedding, basic toiletries like shampoo and body wash, and a good supply of dishes and utensils. The provided snowshoes were a nice touch, parking was pre-shoveled, and the Wi-Fi worked well considering the high altitude. That said, there were a few issues that affected the experience. The hot water ran out fairly quickly during showers. The coffee maker did not work, one of the stovetop burners was non-functional, and the refrigerator’s water filter was not connected. The upper bedroom was also noticeably cold due to the lack of a heating vent.Additionally, we experienced several brownouts after a small snowfall, and a full blackout on our last night that lasted through the night. During the outage, plumbing was not operational, which was inconvenient. With a few maintenance fixes and infrastructure improvements, this property could be a much stronger stay, as the basics and communication are already solid.
Wonderful mountain “treehouse”, surrounded by trees, but not far from main road, Alma and Breck. Comfy beds, fluffy towels. Worked great for a family of 3 with our pup.
Absolutely terrible experience. Host cancelled booking while we were en route to check in. Gave us no alternatives or options and left us stranded. We are looking into legal recourse for this unprofessional behavior. VRBO needs to be accountable for this type of situation where we have no cancellation option, but you cancel our booking at the last second. Shame on you.
A Nightmare Stay with SkyRun Breckenridge – Avoid at All Costs
We booked our dream Christmas vacation through SkyRun Breckenridge, only for it to turn into a traumatizing ordeal. Due to SkyRun's alleged clerical error, law enforcement showed up at our rental property at 1:00 a.m., guns drawn, accusing us of trespassing. My 13-year-old daughter was screaming in terror, my wife was in shock, and we were all fearing for our lives. The officers themselves were unsure of the situation and had to contact the District Attorney. Meanwhile, we were left in the freezing cold, frantically packing our belongings and driving through dangerous mountain roads in the middle of the night. This was already our second forced move during the trip—our first rental had water damage, and now we were being treated like criminals due to SkyRun's negligence. The lack of empathy and responsibility from SkyRun has been appalling. Instead of meaningful action to make up for this trauma, we were offered "beverages or spirits" as compensation. My daughter is now in therapy due to this horrific experience, and our family lost out on prepaid ski lessons and lift passes because we were too shaken to enjoy them. This was supposed to be a joyful holiday, but it became a nightmare we will never forget. If you value your safety, peace of mind, and the well-being of your loved ones, stay far away from SkyRun Breckenridge. The lack of accountability and care from their team is beyond unacceptable.
