Remember: you are renting our CABIN, not a hotel room. A WHOLE HOUSE, in the mountains, that is an all-season escape!! We ask that you gather as many memories as possible and care for our home like your own. We highly respect our cleaning crew and will expect you to do the same. Any extra mess, laundry, on hassle for them will be directly charged to you!
The setting around our hideaway cabin is absolutely stunning in all seasons!
We named this cabin out of respect of a legacy left by our grandfather who used to call to our grandmother on the CB radio on a rural Nebraska farm, "How boutcha' Marie" as he would get her attention. You will find pictures in the hideaway respecting the legacies of our different sets of grandparents as we remind you: "How 'boutcha Hideaway!"

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and supplied with everything you might need. Nice and quiet and very comfortable! Would definitely stay here again!
This cabin was as advertised. Cozy, warm and had all the amenities. Unfortunately we didn't get to experience any of the wildlife during our stay, but we still enjoyed our stay.
The Wild Basin cabin was perfect for our short stay. The cabin was clean and cozy with a well equiped kitchen. We enjoyed the deck with the nice grills along with watching the wildlife in the yard. The host was easy to communicate with and provided us with a comprehensive welcome booklet. It was a very nice place to relax!
We brought some Arkansas friends with us to show them the RMNP area and stayed at Emily's for a couple of days. It was a wonderful, clean, quiet place that gave us great access to the Park and the beautiful area. We really enjoyed our time there.
Had a great stay. Plumbing situation isn't ideal, but it rarely is when you're so isolated from major towns. Getting the indoor temp right was a bit tricky too. But overall the place is very comfortable and clean and the location was perfect. Thank you!

The property is lovely and has a very sweet and special family feel to it. I had a great time there with my family and the owners really thought of everything. The area is beautiful as well. Highly recommend!
The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The area surrounding the cabin was very quiet and peaceful. It’s a great place to get away from the busyness of daily life and relax!
The cabin is a very nice and clean place. They have everything you need. The cabin is 20 min. from everything. Rocky Mountains, & Estes Park. etc.. This cabin has a lot of hummingbirds.
We stayed with our daughter and son in law and were involved in a wedding taking place at Wild Basin Lodge. This was the perfect place to stay, walking distance when the weather was nice. They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable it couldn’t have been better
Thoughtfully decorated, clean, and comfortable. Great location in forest near major road to hiking trails, national park, shopping and restaurants. Awesome!
We went hiking and fishing in RMNP - walking distance to the entry. Cooked some terrific meals and even got to watch the olympics! Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Beautiful cabin and surroundings. Two wonderful decks where we could relax and soak in the atmosphere. Loved our time here. Emily is an amazing host. So responsive.
This place was exactly what we were looking for - remote enough, yet close enough to everything. Close to RMNP for nice hikes. Directions were a little confusing but overall this place is exactly what is advertised. Host communications were impeccable, they are very interested in making sure their renters have a good experience.
My wife and I, her brother and sister-in-law, and our dogs, spent 2 peaceful nights here in the woods. Real nice location, within walking distance to RMNP. Also, a short drive to other hiking trails outside the Park. In addition, a short drive to the small town of Allenspark, CO. where we visited The Old Gallery and attended a bluegrass concert inside the gallery one night. Overall we loved the place and the area and will return someday.
This VRBO is exactly what my family needed. Everything was perfect, everything worked, and everything was clean. We had zero issues with the wifi and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking and staying inside. The host communicated quickly and respectfully throughout the process. We really enjoyed the small balcony from the upstairs room. The views were amazing and just minutes away from Estes Park.
A quiet and cozy place to enjoy!
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cozy cabin. We were visiting our adult kids and chose to go to the mountains. This cabin is well-equipped and very cozy. It was perfect for our purposes. It snowed the night of our arrival, just enough to make it beautiful. We drove around to view the mountains. We visited Estes Park. And spent a day hanging out in the cabin due to some high winds. I definitely recommend this home.
Walking distance from RMNP wild basin entrance! Surrounded by trees but still close to so much! A short drive to Estes and minutes from so many trails. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. Loved the hummingbirds hanging around the feeders on the deck. So appreciated the prestocked coffee waiting for those mornings on the deck! The kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance you may need to eat in.
Definitely will be back!
We had such a great stay. The cabin was clean and inviting. My uncle has had a lot of health issues over the past year and being able to get away was the recharge we needed. We had been looking forward to time away since February and we were not disappointed. Due to these health issues we had to change our date and Emily was accommodating and flexible. Thank you Emily for working with us regarding the dates and for sharing your cabin with us. We look forward to returning to the Hideaway!
The cabin was great. Sweet, cute, and the owners paid great homage to their grandparents; the love is evident! We were able to ride our bikes into the Wild Basin entrance to RMNP, which was a treat. There is a natural spring in Allenspark (very nearby). Bring water jugs to fill them up!!! The pub is Allenspark was nice, go there! There is also the beautiful Chapel on the Rock with a cute coffeeshop (great coffee!). We attended Fri. 8:30am mass, and got coffee most days. Though the cabin is farther from Estes Park & the 2 main entrances to RMNP, we wouldn't have found the gems I just described if we hadn't stayed there. I recommend this cabin for more peace & serenity! The dishwasher was broken so I handwashed dishes, but it wasn't the end of the world. Thank you Emily, we had a great time!
