Alfafar is a small town on the outskirts of Valencia, just one stop from the Valencia Nord railway station. A holiday in Alfafar allows you to easily visit some of the tourist attractions of the capital of the Valencia region, such as the Asunción de Nuestra Señora de Valencia Cathedral and the Basilica of the Virgen de los Desamparados.
The parish church of Our Lady of the Don is the oldest historical building in the town, dating back to the 18th century. This church is a good example of the popular Valencian baroque style, with its facade, belfry and beautifully decorated dome. Thanks to a complete renovation in 1993, today it can be seen in all its glory.
The Casa Consistorial – Alfafar's town hall – and the Sindicato Arrocero or Rice Growers' Guild are two other buildings that are worth visiting in Alfafar. The former was built 150 years ago and still magnificently dominates the Plaza Mayor. The second is a particularly well-conserved example of the private recreational establishments that flourished in the 1920s. This fine Rococo building now houses the municipal library.
Another reason to visit Alfafar are its fallas fiestas – although smaller than in Valencia, the celebrations are equally impressive. As the crowds are smaller, it is easier to get to the front to best enjoy this unique experience. If you are planning to visit Alfafar, we recommend you check out the town hall's website to find out the cultural and festive agenda.
The town is also within the Albufera Natural Park, with its spectacular landscapes, flora and fauna. Take a stroll along the network of trails or relax on board a small boat to see them all. When you plan your trip, check our Alfafar holiday packages, which will help you get the best flight and hotel prices. Alfafar is under nine miles from Valencia Airport, and easily reached by train.
Helpful, friendly staff. Were waiting for tickets to an event to be delivered and young man even called for us to make sure that they would come on time
very helpful staff, hotel was clean and tidy, bit of rd noise from the busy roundabout didnt bother us but may put some people off.
This hotel and location was PERFECT for the solo traveler in Valencia. It was steps away from Nuevo Centro for late night food needs and a short cab away from airport, train station. I walked to many main attractions. The staff were all friendly, and the wifi worked great (not a given in many cities ...
Great location, very clean and very quiet. Due to the locations room can be horribly positioned, as in your window will look into a wall and it's like you're in a basement. Definitely recommended if room will only be used for sleeping.
