Find hotels in Alcolea from £40

The best area to stay in Alcolea is within the village itself, particularly around the central Plaza de la Constitución.

This area is the heart of Alcolea, where you'll find the local church, the town hall, and most of the village's amenities. It's a compact and easily walkable area with narrow, winding streets typical of a traditional Andalusian white village. You'll find a selection of small shops, local eateries, and a relaxed pace of life here.

For couples looking for a quiet and authentic Spanish experience, staying in a guesthouse or a small hotel near the Plaza de la Constitución is ideal. You'll be within easy reach of the local tapas bars and can enjoy strolls through the charming streets, perhaps discovering hidden courtyards.

The best time to go to Alcolea is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with warm but not excessively hot temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Sierra de los Filabres mountains and the surrounding olive groves. You'll find the air crisp and clear, superb for outdoor activities like hiking and enjoying the rural scenery.

For those planning an active holiday, particularly couples or solo travellers interested in walking or cycling, spring and autumn are perfect. The trails around Alcolea are at their most inviting, and you can comfortably spend full days outdoors discovering the local flora and fauna without the intensity of the summer heat.
