"Lobby check in staff was rude. Bruce needs to be retrained on customer service skills. He sounded grouchy and over it just because we booked from a third party system instead of Hilton honors. Some people weren’t as helpful in directions such as the people selling timeshare properties. I asked to point out where the green lawn is and all I got was “over there”. Very dismissive. Cafe and market staff are however very friendly and helpful! They were trained well. Some parts of the hotel needs to be maintained more. Hotel room was clean and hotel was very spacious. Housekeeping was very nice and they made sure to change our towels daily. There were some cracks and dings on the property. The super pool was a little dirty and needs to be cleaned more. The paradise pool was great for the kids! All and in all we had a great experience despite some of the unfriendly staff and cleanliness of the property."

"The room was gorgeous! Bravo for the elevated and tasteful decor. The exterior does need a little facelift here and there as it is an older hotel, but there is a "classic," old Hawaii charm about it. Bell Attendant was a bit pushy when we did not let him take our bags before check in - asking repeatedly - when guaranteed check in was only 30min out. Other than that, the staff at the Veranda was so nice and cheerful and dinner at Arancino was amazing. This is a great option to stay outside of Waikiki."

The view from the patio overlooking beautiful green grass, nicely trimmed hedges, palm trees and the ocean was amazing. Home had all beach equipment needed to enjoy the quick walk across the lawn to beach. Home was clean, well equipped kitchen to cook and grill, beds were all comfortable, bathrooms well stocked, and very comfortable living room areas for family to gather and talk about the day. Lastly, appreciated the quick response to my questions and warm welcome from Private Homes! We plan on returning!"

"We had the absolute best time here!! The rental is clean with everything you need to be comfortable. I love the little kitchenette, so that we could make food and not have to eat out every meal. The location was exactly what we were looking for! It was just a quick 1-2 min walk to the beach to watch the sunrise. Lanakai beach is just a few minutes away by car. Kailua is such a cute area….central to many small local shops. I love supporting local! Our host, Zak, was super nice and accommodating of our needs. Actually, all the people we met were super friendly and welcoming. This really was the best trip!"
