Basic room, great location.
Excellent location to the old town restaurants and shops, very convenient. A very basic room, but suited our needs for the night. Loud street made it hard to get a good nights sleep. Had to search for a plug to charge our phones.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. They were the best part of the stay. The hotel's location is ideal for walking around the old city centre. We had difficulty driving to the hotel using our rental car's navigation and also Google maps as they kept trying to make us drive the wrong way down a one-way road and restricted access roads. The website says there is safe parking in front of the hotel, but there really isn't any. I got out of the car to ask the hotel staff how to get to it and where to park. They were very helpful and directed us to a nearby paid parking lot.

Very Good location, close to the station, parking or downtown.It is a very basic hotel, sheets, towels and bathroom very clean. Lamp and bathroom vents are dirty, the lock of the door is not safe. Is the traditional old style push button. Carpets could be replaced. The night staff person is very very helpful and nice. The reception is nice as well.

Unfortunately, the hotel was very loud - we could hear our neighbors and their party until 3am - we barely slept. The room was very small, and not super clean - we felt the hotel overcharged us. The staff and location were very good.

We are sorry to read your disappointment. Indeed, the city of Aix is noisy like all the cities which live day and night by tourists and students. For a future stay, prefer a quieter, more spacious, but more expensive Superior room. Good continuation.

Good hotel, good location, good service.
Good hotel just a few minutes walk from old town. Good location, close to shops, resturats, pubs, etc. Just a little bit noisy for the street-side rooms.

Great hotel with amazing staff!
This hotel was really lovely and the room was great (apart from the fact the toilet was in a separate room from the shower room, although this seems to be the norm in Provence). Everyone at reception was lovely and incredibly helpful and they helped us book a taxi to the airport as well as reserve a car space for our stay. The location is also very good as it is in a quiet area, yet all the main attractions are within walking distance. Would definitely recommend booking it!

Your room had the toilet next door because it is a simple room at low prices (this is not usual in Provence :-)); we also have, for the vast majority, rooms with all the sanitary comfort in the same room. Great small hotel in an excellent location. Staff were very helpful and nice. Breakfast was great too. Rooms are small which was an issue for us. Highly recommended

First off, France can be very expensive so as long as you`re not expecting 5star facilities, this place is great.The room was a bit on the compact side but if you just want somewhere to spend the night in between exploring, then the Caravelle is perfect - we stayed for four nights and were perfectly happy. The room was clean, bed comfortable and quiet (we had a room overlooking a garden to the rear), the staff were brilliant (very informative and cheery) and the location was excellent - around 20 minutes walk from the main bus station and just around the corner from a street full of bars, restaurants and all the other nice stuff......We`d be happy to return:)

Its location is excellent and the front desk staff member (actually the same nice man all the time) was genuinely welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked.

There’s better places to stay for the money
1-throws over lobby furniture can’t hide their threadbare & worn condition 2-bathroom (a) stank (b) shower so slippery we had to hold on so we wouldn’t fall (c) only mirror in room was over bathroom sink but had such funky lightbulbs you couldn’t see unless you were almost nose to the mirror 3-mattress was (a) poor quality (b) sat on wooden slats, no box springs (c) tilted so bad I had to be careful I didn’t fall off 4-missed our wake up call. When we complained said they called the room twice & considered knocking on our door when we didn’t answer phone but didn’t. When he checked, the room phone didn’t work! It’s old...clean but old & tired. Yes the managers are nice people but a hotel has to function to be a good value.

What a nice listing: indeed, the hotel is old, it dates from the 1960s, that's what makes it so charming; what a pity not to have known how to appreciate it. We advise you to turn to chain hotels that provide all the comforts that you have missed but that takes you away from the historic center, the main asset of our establishment. Perfect location on very edge of old district.
Very happy with hotel, perfect location, very helpful staff on reception (all of them), they gave us the room we requested overlooking garden, very peaceful. Convenient for train station also and bus stop to Cezanne studio. Round the corner from beautiful winding streets of the old district of Aix. Would definitely go there again.

Not the best experience.
We booked this hotel for our family of four and when we arrived they told us the room was for only 3 people and they accused us of lying about how many people were going to be staying in the room. Hotels.com matched us with this hotel and our reservation clearly showed 4 people, which I showed to the hotel clerk. They offered us a cot for the "extra" person and initially wanted us to pay for it, which they later told us we did not have to after we complained. We had no air conditioning, which was also a huge surprise and could not keep the windows open due to the mosquitoes that entered our room and bit us while we were trying to sleep. Needless to say, we did not enjoy our stay here. The hotel was situated very well, however, centrally located and a short distance from restaurants and shops.

Thank you for your return even if your opinion is very dishonest. You booked a family room for 3 people and arrived at 4 people; for that you wanted an extra bed that you refused to pay this morning. Upon your arrival, we explained that half of the rooms were air-conditioned (environmental concern) and that we could change into 2 air-conditioned rooms; but you preferred to pack in a room for 3 to 4 people for the sake of economy. We understand it but we must not blame you for your economy. Our hotel is up to 2 * hotel standards in terms of amenities and is not responsible for heat or mosquitoes. You are in the most expensive city of the region and the most beautiful; what a pity not to have known how to take advantage of it! Hoping that your stay in France evolves in tolerance. We loved Aix, and the hotel was conveniently located, just on the boulevard outside the (small) old center, on the southern part of town, near the beautiful Quartier Mazarin and just a few minutes from the main street, the Cours Mirabeau. It's a fairly basic hotel, but the staff was friendly, the wifi was fine, and the room, while not large, was comfortable; we even had a small balcony. We only stayed one night, so can't say much about service, but the reception was welcoming, and they easily took and kept our bags (we arrived before the room was ready), gave us a map of town,a nd offered advice..

Convenient affordable spot.
This affordable room was just a short walk from famous museums and the town center. You could also walk to the train and bus station from here.

Convenient location
Convenient location, not too far from the train station. Room was on the main street side with a window that opened up with closable shutters. Somewhat noisy. Beds sunk in the middle, making it rollover because it made us roll back. Need new beds.

Simple choice to visit the old town
The hotel was simple but clean. They offered to serve breakfast in the room which we availed of and it was again simple but delicious door only €5! Easy check in and check out. Great location to visit the old town. Lots of public parking within walking distance.

Just fair. What's needed.
Overall it was fine. The hotel staff is great. They're very knowledgeable and super friendly. The hotel is also in a really great location. Besides that though, I. Was a bit disappointed. The bed sagged, the sheets had hair and some blood stains, the shower handle was broken, and the small breakfast is 10€.

Windows insulated from st noise - earplugs made it no problem. Lift is small, but works. Friendly, helpful staff, reasonable rates, close to main center. Nearby parking - bit pricey at about $20/ day.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I stayed less than anticipated. It was nothing against the hotel. The receptionists and staff were very friendly, and that meant a lot to me as I was not feeling tops.

This hotel is small, but inexpensive and very clean. It is close to the old town all tourist sights. My room was a bit cheaper than others, but the toilet was in the hall outside the room. It was only for my room (not shared). There was a sink and a shower in the room, but no toilet. It didn't bother me, but some people might find it an inconvenience. Most other rooms had bathrooms en suite.

Good location
The hotel is near the city center. But it's quite far from the train station. (Around 15 minutes walk, but the road is quite steep.) The staff was very friendly. But breakfast was quite poor.
