This was our third time here, it is one of our favorite places to use as a base for visiting the area of Nord pas de Calais and a comforable drive to Channel, Brugge and Brussels as well. This is a B&B that is a real chateau that has been remodeled in the period style, on several acres of land. It is not a hotel, thus they are legally obliged to shut down from 11:00 to 16:00, requiring quests to be out and about during this time, and there is no daily linen service. Rooms are large and bathrooms are completely remodeled in stylish modern style. The chateau is in farm country and the experience transports one back in time to simpler surroundings. Several very good restaurants are in the area, including dinner on request at the Chateau, 4 course gourment dinner at bistro prices. The owners ran a restaurant in Belgium, so they are excellent chefs. Breakfast is included, and is more than adequate with basket of croissants and baguettes, cold cuts, yogurt, soft boiled egg, jams, etc, all served at your table. Large cobblestone parking courtyard in front of property.
