Abersoch lies along the coast of the spectacular Llyn Peninsula, in North Wales, and has long been a favourite seaside resort. Unlike many British seaside towns, Abersoch has retained an air of elegance about it, with a jumble of stone cottages, a harbour, and several golden sandy beaches backed with traditional multi-coloured beach huts. It's known for being one of Wales' premier sailing destinations, particularly during the summer months. Throw in several water sport centres, a wakeboard music festival in July, and some fine places to wine and dine, and you've got the makings of a great weekend break. It doesn't matter whether you're coming on a romantic getaway by the sea with your loved one or a family beach holiday, Abersoch bed and breakfasts have got you covered.
The bed and breakfasts in Abersoch have long been the staple accommodation of choice for visitors. Though the town has several hotels, there is just something so right about staying in one of the B&Bs. Maybe it's their proximity to the beach, or the friendly owners, who welcome you into their home. Either way, you can always find the perfect B&B match when you look through the listings on Expedia. All you need to do is filter the results by budget and date, scan through the properties and book in just a few clicks. Arranging your accommodation just got a whole lot easier. Some are housed in the whitewashed stone and slate properties that line up along the seafront. Others are in converted farmhouses, or country cottages just a stone's throw from town. You'll even find several boutique properties which have renovated in recent years and give the luxury hotels a run for their money. Whichever you pick, you'll always have a comfortable stay when you book a night through Expedia.
The guestrooms come in all shapes and sizes, but you can expect them to come equipped with all the facilities you might find in a hotel, like a flat-screen TV on the wall, a comfortable double bed and free WiFi. All but the most budget options have ensuite bathrooms, with complimentary toiletries, towels and a hairdryer. If you pick right, you can score one of the guestrooms whose windows look straight out across the sea. There are few things better than waking up to the sound of waves lapping onto the beach. After a good night's sleep, you can head downstairs to the dining room, where your hospitable hosts will be cooking up a proper Welsh breakfast, a great way to fuel up for a day on the beach. If Abersoch doesn't sound right for your break, you could consider a few nights in the capital, as there are plenty of things to do in Cardiff.
Most families who come to stay in Abersoch bed and breakfasts during the summer head for the golden beaches during the day, where they can stake out a spot and stroll from the sand to the cool ocean, and back again. Llanbedrog Beach, just down the coast in Pwllheli, is a popular spot for families – and less than 30 minutes away by bus. If you're interested in sailing, you could hire a yacht to cruise along the pretty Welsh coastline. Alternatively, you could learn a new water sport, like wakeboarding or windsurfing, at one of the schools. If you can tear yourself away from the beach, don't miss taking a hike along the gorgeous coastal paths that wind around the peninsula, or hop aboard one of the daily fishing charters to try your luck at hooking a big one.
