"This 16th century manor house has been lovingly and tastefully restored and one has a sense of stepping back in history. Everything is first class, including the friendly and accommodating service. The location is 10 minutes outside of Ponte de Lima, so a car is recommended. We stayed 3 nights and toured from there, happily returning each time to this beautiful hotel. It was a highlight of our 2 week tour of Portugal."

"This is a quaint rural hotel run by 2 sisters. They speak little English but were accommodating and polite. There was no information pack or explanation about breakfast etc. We didn’t know where to go or times breakfast was served. Breakfast was a continental selection. We were not offered to order anything but saw others with scrambled egg. We had an early flight home.Check out procedure was not explained. Reception was locked up also security gates were locked. "We stayed for a night off-season whilst doing the Camino Portuguese. The hotel seems to be mid-upgrade: the room had clearly had a thorough refit with box-new towels. Other parts of the hotel looked a bit more dated, but it was clean and tidy. One thing we were surprised to see was a 4-lane 10-pin bowling alley - a fun diversion for our evening."
