One of the most delightful hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are outstanding. The hospitality feels more like staying in the home of good friends than a normal commercial hotel experience. The warmth of welcome goes well beyond just polite and efficient service, though they provide that too. Don't worry about the steep hill. We spent four nights here. We stayed in a sea view studio. The room was large, the view was great. The roof pool and bar were really good, and there is a small beach close by, just ask and you’re taken there in a buggy. The staff are very helpful and friendly. If we return to Langkawi, we will stay here again. Tips: Take your own shower gel as you only get shampoo and conditioner and use the Grab app for getting cabs.

We had an amazing 7 night stay at The Camar, the room was very comfortable and overlooked the great long pool, Breakfast was good, the staff were truly wonderful. The location is on a pretty beach on the edge of town, away from all the clamor but near enough for either a long walk or short taxi ride. The hotel run a scuttle service. It’s a unique experience to stay in an antique Malaysian home brought into 21st century comfort. Staff here are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is the best we had on the island & the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. This is a really special place & if you want to get away from impersonal, standard hotel environments this is the place for you. We stayed in Black Coral & the room was beautifully furnished, stylish & comfortable.
