"We were put in a room that was on the top floor which was accessed by a very small staircase but there was no offer of assistance by the staff with our bags"

"The staff were friendly and welcoming at check-in, and the hotel is in an excellent location. It's a shame that parking comes at an additional cost. The hotel itself is a little dated and unfortunately seemed to retain a lot of heat, which wasn't ideal given the recent warm weather, although I imagine this would be an advantage during the winter months. The breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection and quality of food."
