"The Campanile suited our purposes insofar as its situation. We were able to park the car safely and easily and take the bus into La Rochelle. We had a prob with the air conditioning which was promptly rectified/change of room and offer of one free breakfast. The room itself was spotlessly clean but a bit Spartan and the view from the window was poor. "

"While we were a little nervous about the somewhat shabby area around this small, quiet hotel, we were quite happy to enter and find an immaculately clean, modernized facility. The parking area, while not a garage, fell safe and secure. The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, the common areas fresh and modern and the room so clean and sparkling! Absolutely the only reason I had to take off a star was because the mattress really could use replacing. It felt old and I could feel the springs....

"I was travelling with two small dogs and a car full of stuff for my house rental. The hotel was safe and the garden was fabulous for the dogs. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. I had a great room and the restaurant at the hotel was excellent. All in all it was a great overnight stay and I may very well go back there on my return. "

"When we arrived at 5.00pm on Sunday afternoon the hotel was deserted. Automatic check-in machine! If someone had been at reception we would have asked to change our room,particularly as the place appeared practically empty, because our shower head bracket was broken so had to be hand held for the entire stay. Also being sited on the 2nd floor was difficult for us as we are both over 70 and have both had hip surgery. We enjoyed our continental breakfast each day and our swim in the nice private...

"This is a quaint small hotel with breakfast included. The man checking us in was very polite and friendly. He advised us on parking (city parking nearby and at the port just a couple blocks away) and about restaurants and tourist opportunities. Our room was quiet and efficient with good bedding. Breakfast was complete continental and the same man who checked us in made sure we had a good breakfast including soft boiled eggs, cold cuts and plenty of breads. "Perfect place to stay to explore La Rochelle. In the heart of the old town and surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shops. A small supermarket is located nearly next door. Walking distance from the train station - less tha. 5 minute flat walk. Friendly staff, clean room with large comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Excellent breakfast available which we had both mornings. Only downside is there was no kettle in the room to be able to make a hot drink."
