Kilmurry Lodge Hotel

Kilmurry Lodge Hotel

8/10 Good
"Room was modest but fine. Fan was essential since no AC, but cooled things off well with window open. Pillows on beds were quite hard/not fluffy, so replacing them would be a good upgrade. Only real complaint was not with room but with reservations system: we wanted to shorten our 8-day stay by one night (in advance, not on arrival) and doing so would have been MORE expensive than just sticking with our original reservation. I didn’t understand why that should be, as we had to pay for the first night even though we didn’t arrive until the next day."

"Lovely hotel, no air conditioning though unfortunately during the heatwave & could only open the window a fraction but I know that's due to health and safety which is understandable. Breakfast and pool was lovely. Staff helped and friendly."

Pocket Guide: 3 Stars Hotels in Limerick

Limerick City has more three star hotels than other types probably because they are a popular choice for family trips or for those travelling solo on business. They provide a good standard of service and amenities without being too harsh on your wallet, and often offer good deals if you book ahead online. You’ll find various three star hotels in the main city centre and suburban areas.

Where to Stay When You Visit Limerick

Most of the three star hotels in Limerick are clustered around the city centre and medieval quarter but there are others further afield in the suburbs of Castleconnell and Adare. Choose from adventure sports hotels with gym facilities and pools, boutique hotels and even pet-friendly hotels, which is an interesting option for city centre hotels and goes some way to show how hospitable the Irish are! Quite a few are clustered around the River Shannon, which means great views, walks, cafés and bars close by and a 10-minute walk to the main attractions like the 13th century St John’s Castle, the Treaty Stone, the Hunt Museum, Arthur’s Quay Park, Limerick City Gallery of Art, Frank McCourt Museum and St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Boutique Hotels and Shopping in Limerick

For a more intimate stylish city break and an authentic “Irish” stay you could opt to stay in one of the several independent boutique hotels, most of which are in the centre of Limerick. They are close to all the main attractions, parks, theatres and museums and a short walk from the main shopping areas like O’Connell Street, where you’ll find a good choice of independent shops, boutiques, Wi-Fi, cafes and bars. Just three miles away you’ll find Limerick’s largest shopping centre - The Crescent - where you can make a day of it.

Hotels for Business and Technology in Limerick

If you’re visiting Limerick for business or academic reasons it’s worth a stay in the University of Limerick buildings in Castletroy. Conference apartments may be available in one of the housing districts or “villages” that have sprung up around the campus along the banks of the Shannon. Discount stays may be available off-season during the holidays. The University of Limerick was established in 1972 and is a key centre for business, sport and economics in the region, contributing to the successful regeneration and cultural development of Limerick over the past 30 years.

Close to the University of Limerick you’ll also find the National Technology Park in Castletroy - a world-class development for business and enterprise in Limerick. Over 80 technology companies are based within the centre focusing on ICT, healthcare and e-learning.

Limerick has an excellent choice of three star hotels in the city centre and surrounding suburbs so is ideally placed for a city break, business, family or sporting holiday. They offer a range of services including concierges to help you organise meetings or tours, discounted tickets on key visitor attractions, free WiFi and leisure facilities to make your stay in Limerick a relaxing one.
