The grounds are beautiful and the outdoor space with couches and propane fire pit was the perfect place to relax in the evening. "We planned a short getaway to Friday Harbor with our two small children. I booked the room with the garden terrace not quite knowing what to expect. WOW! Although we felt a little awkward with the kids (most people staying there at the time did not have kids), we were very warmly welcomed by the staff. The garden terrace rooms led right outside the the lawn, views of the ferries, and fire pits. We were able to get the kids asleep and step outside to enjoy a drink and the fires both nights. We...

"I loved the view, the lovely private balcony, the cozy room and decor. I would definitely stay again. The management were very responsive and helpful as well. The electric fireplace is also a cozy addition that I made good use of since it is pretty cold in March, still."

"While we loved the property and the staff, ammenties, and breakfast were fantastic, we were really surprised at the fact that our room was never tidied during our staff. While we were only there 3 days, 2 nights, the garbages did fill up and as we had brought some food back, it did somewhat cause the room to smell. As well as the towels being limited, they weren’t as fresh as you would usually expect. That being said, we still had a wonderful stay and the hotel was very clean and well managed....

"The Heron is a very well maintained vintage building with the creature comforts and customer service to entice me to want to return for a longer visit. There’s ample parking and we were able to plug in our electric car. The lobby area features an appealing lounge with massive fireplace and seating as well as the breakfast dining area. Breakfast was of a good standard with fruit and eggs made to order . The rooms have a mixture of vintage charm and expansive windows along with a nice bathroom...

"Great views from the picture windows and porch of our waterfront cabin. The included bundle of firewood was a plus. The only negative was not being able to use the hot tub right upon opening time at 9:30 am which cut enjoyment of that feature down a lot. My boyfriend is a huge hot tub lover and we had to hurry to check out by 11:00am. The beds, linens and pillows were all really nice! Overall the property is just what it reports and I would likely book here again. "
