This was our second stay at the property. We received a warm welcome as usual and checked into our spacious family room. The hotel is clean but a little tired in places. We're happy to see that they are undertaking a refurbishment and look forward to seeing the results next year. The location is outstanding; a short walk from the beach and high street. Beautiful house set in the stunning Exmoor National park is worth the 5 stars alone. However , it is the attentiveness of the owners and attention to detail that really makes Edgcott House very, very special. This is a hotel that we have stayed at during different times of the year. This weekend was very cold but it was lovely and warm in the room.The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The evening meal in the restaurant was outstanding with service to match. Breakfast was equally excellent.

Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

If I can suggest to ignore any other negative comments / review regarding this property. Upon booking my stay, reading the other reviews I was alittle aprehensive. I should not have been. Great car park on the side of the property, which was free. Lovely bar and restaurant and I received a very friendly welcome in. Even some of the locals in the bar gave me a friendly smile and nod. Very clean & comfortable inn accommodation

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer.

This was just a stop over as we travelled to Devon but it was a lovely area and one we will consider again if we need to stop off. Chris and Sue were both very friendly, especially as we had to check in late. Breakfast is incredible! They were also incredibly accommodating for our little boy.

Decent accommodation in a beautiful village on Exmoor. The bed was comfortable and the full English breakfast very good as well. I had no problem parking just outside on the street. I liked the feeling of staying in a family-run hotel and they were all friendly and helpful. Would return!
