"Clean and central location"

"The Ferry Inn is delightful. The place is only bettered by the amazing family that runs it. Home away from home… excellent food, well appointed rooms and sparkling clean … we will be back!"

"Murray Arms Hotel is the nicest place I’ve stayed. The family owned hotel is warm & cozy with exceptional hospitality, superb food & chill ambiance by the shore. Great location, peaceful, charming & lovely retreat. Locals enjoy it too."

"Staff was very accommodating. The large tub with jets was relaxing. The central location was excellent. Hot breakfast and selection was very good. We plan to come back. Highly recommend."

"We were very pleasantly surprised to learn our 1 room family suite had 2 separate bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Only issues were that we only had 1 key which made it tricky every time we went separate places. Also there was an illuminated exit sign in the king bedroom we had to cover up it was so bright, and when others shut their doors it would thump ours. Loved the skylights, was a bit stuffy but those helped. Loved the breakfast!"

"Helpful staff and wonderful breakfast"

"Comfortable rooms, great breakfasts"

"Friendly, clean and conveniently located. Breakfast was great and the owners were incredibly helpful. Really enjoyed my stay."

"Very well centered for all the sites on the west side of Orkney and a quick drive to Kirkwall and the eastern archipelago sites. Staff was fantastic and a store featuring lots of local artisans is within walking distance. Not many dinner restaurants nearby, but a grocery store across the street had plenty of options for my needs."

"The room was spotless, very friendly staff, close to town centre. "

"Family friendly and very quiet. Well positioned for visiting the main island. Would recommend."

"Great spot, lovely accommodation along with very pleasant and helpful owners "

"Very clean and comfortable accom - great to arrive (very late!) to lights and warmth. Very good facilities, private parking (a little tight) and very convenient for ferry to Scrabster and Stromness main street."

"Great location for visiting the Neolithic sites. The house was wonderfully cosy with great views. We would definitely stay here again."

"The house was lovely but the heating did not work and the bedding was thin. This led to us having a very cold sleepless night. Such a shame as it was a lovely house in a fantastic location. Spoilt our stay."

"Staff was very helpful and friendly. Facilities a bit long in the tooth "

"Great location in Kirkwall, close to the information centre, supermarkets, abs the cathedral. Clean as a whistle too! "

"Great apartment right in the centre of Kirkwall town. Literally in the alley few seconds to a bar serving food. Then the harbour front is seconds away Make sure you go into the Albert street car park stay left and turn into, usually a space outside the apartment can park for free. Go up couple steps and will see Ivy house "
