Nice hotel near Pt Angeles Ferry terminal

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Very comfortable hotel near the Pt Angeles Ferry, Parliament, Downtown and the BC Museum. Rooms are very clean, nice indoor pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Repeat visit as this is a good place to stay when touring Victoria. Only downside is no air conditioning but, with Canadian summers, a fan was sufficient in the evening. Will stay here again.

Pros: Very pretty grounds courtesy car to a 10 block radius, took us to dinner and came to pick us up!
Cons: Not for us
Location: 1 block from Clipper terminal, we walked, and across the street from central Victoria & the harbour
Convenient to Clipper terminal and centre of Victoria, good food and friendly staff

Action central

Pros: Liked the location, the gift shop, the dignified atmosphere.
Cons: Perhaps a wall-mounted AC unit.
Location: Royal BC Museum is a must. Bateman Centre good, too. Shopping on Government Street. Just hanging around the harbour is entertaining.
We found ourselves in Victoria on a holiday weekend. The harbour was buzzing with tourists, the weather was fabulous and the Royal Scot was in a prime location. The only drawback was no AC on a sweltering day, but our forefathers didn't have it, either, right? The hotel was stately and quiet, with an excellent small gift shop where we bought a carved potlach bowl. Across the street at the Day's Inn, a lively crowd was dancing and shimmying, and not one of them was under 70. Truly inspirational.

Nice and great location

The Royal Scot is really only about a block from the wharf area. I would probably have stayed closer to the water had their been availability, but this location was actually great because it was quieter and away from the crowd noise. Very charming place to stay.

Pros: location was convenient to Inner Harbour
Great location, no AC, but fan in the room helped with airflow. Cool temps, too.

Walking Distance to many Tourist Sites

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Location: There are several restaurants within walking distance, as well as many tourist sites. It's a short walk to the Parliament Building where you can get
The Royal Scot is a short walk from the ferry terminal. We were greeted warmly by front desk staff and a big bowl of free apples. The room was clean but a little warm because of the freakish 94 degrees Fahrenheit the first day. The following days were much more pleasant. Even with the heat, there was a fan in the room and we were able to sleep with the windows open. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave in the anteroom and we got free cookies each day. The room was large with a walk-in closet and there was little, if any, hallway noise at night.
