“5*”
Wonderful hotel, staff couldn't be more accomodating, bedroom and bathroom luxurious. Lovely swimming pool steam room and sauna in the basement of hotel which is free to use, flip flops etc all provided. When we arrived at the hotel the bed was made up as a double instead of 2 twins as requested, we asked for more hangers, towelling robes and a couple of light bulbs were not working, We went out for a walk and when we came back everything had been done. Breakfast just ok but then the Itallians never seem to do that very well in hotels, Location was perfect, Louis Vuitton, Zara, Tommy Hilfiger, just a few of the many top designer strores very close by on Via Roma just across the road, La Rinacente department store 2 mins walk, Hermes, Armani, Chanel in the San Carlo Piazza about 5 mins walk. We ate in a fabulous restaurant Ristorante Solferino about 15 mins walk, as recommended on tripadvispor. Everything is within walking distance except for the amazing Auto Museum which you must visit even if you are not into cars.....The Cinema museum is also an amazing place. Turin is a very lovely grand Italian city, alot of private banks, grand buildings, squares with huge statues, wonderful coffee shops and a very safe city to just walk and walk.
“Very satisfied”
i am from turin and always stay at PdiP when in town. great location for me, in front of my family's office and walking distance from my mother's home, main reason for my trips (being italian...). only problem i have is with the turning down service. sometimes they do it, sometimes they don't. i always go to standard rooms and i had it almost all the times. this time, having been upgraded to a junior suite, i did not. asked at check out i was told it's a question of room tier. something i have never heard in my life in a 5 stars hotel. i think the hotel should look into this.
“i'm pleased.”
i am from turin and live in london. this is the hotel i always go to whenever in town. there is no garage and the one they will refer to you has outrageous rates: beware. there are others not far at half the price. at arrival nobody comes to pick up your luggage unless you walk in and make yourself noticed. not good for a 5 stars hotel. apart from this, the hotel is splendid. i personally love its architecture and its interiors. check out the ballroom and you will be astonished. i'd love waitresses not to sing or whistle while working but hey, nobody is perfect.
“Excellent hotel, shame about road access”
The Principi di Piedmonte is a delightful city centre hotel with excellent service, great rooms and an outstanding location; only two items detract - the appalling lack of customer service in the spa and the almost impossibility to access the hotel by car - roadworks, pedestrian streets and one-way roads abound and no clear, what would be helpful, directions were provided despite a request..
“Great Experience”
The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. The room was a junior suite and was very spacious. Could use a paint job, but the amenities were great. The bed was King size and comfortable. The bathroom was very large and luxurious. The only thing that was frustrating were the loud speakers in the bathroom connected to the tv that did not have volume control. The hotel pool was beautiful and well maintained. The hotel staff were friendly and the restaurant was very accommodating in providing gluten free options both at dinner and breakfast. The coffee at breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was in a great location, but parking was expensive. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would go back again.
“Great Location”
This hotel is right in the middle of everything there is to see and do in the city of Turin. Staff were very friendly and helpful in every way. Make it a point to have drinks in the bar before going out for dinner in the evening. The staff there were friendly and knowledgeable. The price of drinks may seem high at first, but they bring you plate after plate of appetizers to go with your drink, homemade chips, snack mix, specials from the kitchen each night, etc. You can relax and fill up here and not order any appetizers at the restaurant. The head guy in the bar gave us reccomendations each night for dinner and then called our choice each night to make a reservation for us. We never felt like we were being sent to the restaurant where the guy had a kick-back like at some places. Only problem was the walls in the room were paper thin and you could hear everything next door, but all the rooms were the same, not just our bargain room, just bring ear plugs if you are light sleeper. Overall, a very grand place to stay!
“Great Hotel in historical center of Turin”
Lovely hotel in the historical center of Turin. Very Art Deco. We had a junior suite with a view and it was well-equipped and comfy. Soaking tub and walk-in shower. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and had great restaurant recommendations. Don't miss the hot chocolate - the Torinese claim they invented it!
“Terrific Experience”
Our stay in the Principi di Piemonte was great. We were upgraded to a junior suite with a view out across the City. The interior design of the suite is modern and luxurious. The staff was very helpful for directions and reservations. The bar man gave great advice on where to find the best chocolates. You walk out of the hotel onto two main shopping streets and are within a five minute walk of the historic center and ten to teh train station. We loved it and will go back.
“extreme charge for parking”
Turin is a lovely city. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the location.
“Great digs in Turino”
Great location and an extremeley comfortable five star experience. Excellent service. Nice to see such high quality decor in the guest rooms but surprising that they still dont have the entertainment system functioning so long after the refurbishment was completed.
