The little local store a few paces away had everything needed to stock up and the hotel/ pub The Fleece was perfect for a drink in the evening."

"Lovely old cottage, furnished well with a nice kitchen having everything you need for eating in (except for a sieve or collander). Clay tiles on ground floor make the floor cold so bring slippers in low season. Some very low beams so tall people beware. Couldn't light the gas fire though. Surprised to find slow-moving bees on window sills or on floor each day when returning from day out."

"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. "I greatly enjoyed the combination of comfort, beautiful Yurt interior and outdoor living for 4 days. The wood burner gets the Yurt very cosy in a short while if it is chilly. Charlie was very helpful and considerate. There is some noise from the passing road but the views and secluded position more than make up for that. I would happily return."

"The Tallow Factory is a wonderful character-filled place for a family or group gathering, in the heart of Dedham Village and the surrounding Dedham Vale. The ground floor has three comfortable entertaining areas, if you include the walled garden along with the wood beamed lounge and large country kitchen. Upstairs easily sleeps 8-10 people. The neighboring Sun Inn serves excellent food. Thoroughly recommend!!"
