Great service and good value
The service was absolutely amazing throughout the hotel - every single person was so friendly. The building I stayed in (as there are several around the property) was a bit old and needed refurbishment. The walls were quite thin - I could hear my neighbor's alarm in the mornings. However, for the amount of money I paid it was still a very good deal and was good value. The garden around the footpaths was also lovely. The location is easy as well - I didn't have a car and only used the buses on the island, which was quite doable from the hotel.

The property was almost being immersed in a rain forest. It is situated a little away from the centre of Puerto de La Cruz. However is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We booked a double room with a terrace and enjoyed the sizeable room and bed. Friendly staff who are always happy to help. One thing I would say is that dinner times can often seem limiting especially if you come back late from an excursion. Additionally it can often seem like you are competing for a table at meal times. I would add that for those who have dietary requirements or religious considerations it may be wise to add ingredients to what each meal is. But all in all a beautiful hotel with a resort like feel. I would definitely stay again.

Pleasant Though Large All-Inclusive Resort
A large resort hotel centered around a large pool, next to a pleasant park, though a little distance away from everything else in town, including the beach. Buffet breakfasts and dinners were adequate, if somewhat uninspired. For the price tat I paid, I would regard my stay here to have been an outstanding deal.Within driving and cycling distance of many wonderful natural attractions and within walking distance of the town center , harbor and beaches.

the hotel was old and dated but clean, the food was brilliant, the pool was clean, so was my room, the bed was hard but comfortable, the staff tried to be helpful but English is basically a 4th language, the gardens were nice there's bus stops just out side, little food shop down the road, the downside plus what none of the internet sites don't tell you is its mostly cloudy there, if you are going on an exclusion down south be warned its a two and a half hours on a coach trip with no toilet stops, and some exclusion from the south may not pick you up from This hotel, also if you have children don't get a pool room as there play music out side till 11, if the weather I was better I would go back

Dear Anonymous. We are very happy about the full score rating and would like to thank you very much for your nice and positive comments. It means a lot to us that you had a great holiday and that our hotel, staff and food could contribute towards it. We do regret, though that you had to experience cloudy weather, the month of September quite often is a bit unstable weatherwise. Please come back in July or August so we can show off our place in the sun. Best wishes, Alua Hotels & Resorts

The setting of the gardens around the pool was very nice. The room that we were allocated was very poor and didn’t reflect what we were led to believe on the EXPEDIA advert. If we had known the room was poor, we may have selected a different hotel. In addition the fridge didn’t work, the wardrobe door was faulty, some of the sockets didn’t work, the telephone didn’t work. We asked for a double bed when we agreed the package and yet all we had was two single beds pushed together. One of the mattress’s had a dip in it and was very uncomfortable. We would not book that hotel in future; the advert doesn’t meet the expectations.

The hotel is a bit far away from the restaurants and the beach but only a 20min walk. The pool is not heated, not cleaned properly (poop floating?) and the pool times from 10-18 are laughable. The breakfast is decent althought the restaurant is noisy, crowded and the floor plan is poor. The dinner overpriced and poor quality. They sell you a 1 euro bottle of wine for 11-15 euros and the food is substandard. The rooms were pretty ok although they did not change sheets. Some staff speak very good english, some do not understand a word. The hotel itself is an eye candy. Lots of palm trees and other plants.

Pool Cleanliness: 3/10 (lots of bugs due to amount of plants around hotel). Room cleanliness: 6/10 Kid friendly: No, nothing for them but the pool. Do NOT eat anything off the "lunch" menu, they couldn't even cook a frozen pizza correctly! Parking: Street parking only. Tip! - Do not settle for room they give you at first! They tried to put me at the back of the hotel, in a box room of a double bedroom with a view of an air conditioning unit and a brick wall. I had to view 3 rooms before I settled.

On arrival to hotel we stood in reception waiting to be seen. Reception staff did see us but they did not welcome us. They were very focused of simply processing our information and did not give us any information on anything within the area. Could have been more friendly. Room was not what we expected, toilet smelt bad aswell as room. On first night we had a huge cockroah in the room which we had to catch ourselves. We also had stained pillows with blood and expected a double bed not twin beds put together. Only thing good about the hotel was its food. Entertainment wasn't great.

Beautiful setting, shame about the execution
Sol Parque San Antonio is, as the name suggests, a beautifully laid out garden hotel. The garden was lovely. Unfortunately, the room was a little under par, with a particularly uncomfortable bed. I woke every morning with pins and needles where the close to protruding springs had cut off circulation to a part of my body! My room looked out over the garden at the back of the hotel, which while perfectly nice, had a very busy road running alongside. It was very noisy, even late into the night, to the point I couldn't leave the window open, or sit out in the private garden area. I was also unfortunate enough to be next door to 2 rooms of teenagers travelling alone. They were terribly behaved - noisy, moving furniture around in the rooms, slamming doors and ringing all the door bells. I complained about the noise at near to 1 am, and was assured by reception they would address it. They did not.

We arrived after 9.30 pm & food was not available at the hotel. We were directed to a restaurant a short walk away. The room was spacious but noisy as the balcony was on the busy road side. The view, included the mountain & the sea when you looked past the other hotels. The poolside was nice and there was plenty of sun beds. There was also a poolside bar. Bar prices were very reasonable and very good value. The live entertainment ( suitable for older people) was very good - Carlos was especially good (playing the saxophone & singing). The meals were served in a large restaurant and all self service. It was basic and plentiful.

Nice hotel.......
Nice hotel with beautiful relaxing surroundings. Would recommend to people however, no kettle in rooms so no morning or afternoon tea or coffee. Fridge easily accessible. Safe has no key and no key at reception. The rooms themselves are comfortable with ease to heat or cool them, very spacious for 2 people. The bathrooms need updating or deep cleaned as the bath had hard residue in it and the toilet had a green tint stuck on the porcelain. Also please check with the hotel before booking as the buses are hourly from hotel to town from 0935 to 1835 only reason I say check is because the hotel is situated at the top of a very large hill which is OK to walk down but coming up is more than a 20% incline. "breathless" taxis are only €4 from Marco plaza so pretty decent.

Quiet place with nice garden, mostly german guests, nice staff, huge rooms with nice balcony to the garden with lush vagetation. Meals rather poor, but you can survive, condition of the facilities in the hotel are not perfect, it needs refurbishment, so don't expect your great impression at moment of arrival, but you manage to feel familiar with it all after while or even start to like it. Guests and staff are mostly old so this place is definitely not recomended for young people expecting some young athmosphere or fun, it reminds rather some geriatric branche, closer to the cementary, than hospital, but still..., if you like it like that - why not? ;)

Had a Lovely Stay at Sol Parque San Antonio
We really enjoyed our stay. Although the hotel was a bit 'tired' (furniture a bit dated and in need of a lick of paint), the room was spacious, the beds comfortable and bathroom clean with both bath & shower. The balcony was a fair size with lovely views, even though the furniture was a bit uncomfortable and broken. The setting of the hotel (within beautiful gardens) was very nice and the pool was a good size. We only ate breakfast which was buffet style with enough variety to please everyone although the hot food was a bit cold. A small number of cats resided within the gardens which we thought a lovely touch. They had their own kennel house and were properly fed. They were friendly and appeared well looked after. Many customers seemed to enjoy their company. On the whole, staff were helpful (more so than at other destinations I have recently stayed). The location was perfect for us - a very pleasant scenic 20 minute walk into the main shopping / eatery / seafront area. The town was lively but not hectic. We took cabs back to the hotel as it was all up hill at a cost of around 3.50 Euros. There's also a handy cab rank outside the hotel. The Southern airport is about an hour from the hotel. We made the mistake of catching a cab from the airport to the hotel which cost us 115.00 Euros. The hotel recommended a bus back from the town bus station which cost around 20 Euros. I would have no hesitation in staying at S.P.S.A. again or recommending it to others.

Good base for hiking on the north of the island.
Stayed 2 weeks. Was on half pension, so ate dinner there every night. Good variety of food that was tasty and mostly healthy. Primarily a buffet that would change from day to day. In addition, chefs at the grill would prepare omelets/eggs in the morning and fish/meat in the evening. After a hike, would come back in the afternoon and take a short swim in the pool to cool down. Had a room facing the center of the complex. Was very quiet at night. Couldn't hear any traffic and seldom heard other guests. N.B. Long pants required for dinner.

how could it be $ star?!
Remember to have with you tissues, soaps, shampoos, towels and mattresses. You don't need a hair dryer but except the 4 walls and a door and water taps you almost need everything to take with you. The mattress is old enough to hurt your backbones and you won't expect any service from the hotel. The buffet breakfast and meals are not of high quality but quantity is a lot. The staff at the lobby are not helpful. It looks like a no star motel. The only exception is the waiters in the restaurant who are running fast to help the clients. The garden was also good but we didn't have the chance to try the swimming pool. Anyway if you like cats you can enjoy playing with them as there were plenty of them available at your foot steps. If it makes any difference there is a British library and the door is funded by Masons! Anyway it's up to you to repeat our mistake of accommodation in such beautiful island.

Not suitable for children
The hotel in general was clean and well maintained. However, the room lacked basic facilities - no tea or coffee facilities; a bar fridge which was empty and didn't work; very basic tv. The food was exceptionally poor although there was a lot of it most was in edible. The hotel claims it is child friendly but the pool was too cold for little ones and the shallow end was 0.6mtrs so little ones couldn't get in and out without jumping into the cold water. There was a cafe for lunch but it served only spam burgers and toasted sandwiches. No child friendly drinks. Most of the guests were elderly and were generally bothered by children playing.

The food in the hotel was amazing. We had all inclusive option and there was always lots of different foods. I did find it strange that some of the coctails were not included (4 to choose from), however the ones that were included were very nice! I did not like the swimming pool, it was over 3m deep and quite dirty. There was stuff floating around from palm trees and other plants. The smell of chlorine was very strong the first day we were there, later it faded (maybe got used to it :D). There was no music at the pool area or any activities whatsoever. The entertainment in the evenings was absolutely awful. Overall I would say the hotel would suit older people rather than young couples or group of friends.

Perfectly decent hotel with leafy inner space
I picked this hotel in a hurry because a villa I originally booked proved extremely unsatisfactory once I arrived. On the plus side, the hotel staff were very accomodating and happy to help by providing (without charge) things like beech towels and an iron. Some staff members on reception and on the bar could be cheerier though. The entire hotel seemed clean and well maintained. I even saw a cleaning supervisor checking rooms after they had been done! Towels were replaced on demand, soap/shower gel dispensers never ran out. The aircon worked well and quietly. Despite being beside a busy road, the rooms had a vestibule that blocked the noise completely. The inner part of the hotel is leafy, tranquil and well maintained - and also does not suffer road noise. Sun beds are available along with a decently large pool (and life guard). We only had breakfast as we otherwise ate out but the selection was vast by my standards. Quality was fine though the coffee and fruit juice (both from machines) were poor quality. Prices for bar drinks were somewhere between cheap and reasonable. Nightly entertainment (-man with keyboard singing cliched anglophile hits) was not brilliant but I imagine things would be better in high season (-we went mid December and few guests attended.) There was no dedicated parking but the hotel sits on a long one-way street and it wasn't hard to find a space there. The hotel is home a resident cat population - we counted at least 8 different ones - we found this homely if a bit odd. On the downside, we had to report a single large cockroach on two separate nights. I don't blame the hotel for this - it obviously jusrt crawled through the aircon ventilation system (which we didn't use much). A man came and sprayed something in the vents - no more cockroaches. Another irritation was the poor quality signal for BBC Worldwide - one of the few english language channels on the TV. Apparently there isn't much the hotel can do about this - and also the mainly german guest population (who were generally older and hospitable) are happy with what they can tune into. I would really have liked a kettle and tea making facilities in the room too - but none were provided. There was no Wi-Fi access at all unfortunately - I would recommend this as an obvious improvement. On the whole I was very happy with the hotel. My criticisms are minor things and I would recommend this hotel, especially older groups of people looking for somewhere quiet.

Public areas outstanding; rooms OK
Our room was not really 4 star standard: it was small and basic (TV tiny, no satellite channels, most in Spanish) though it was clean. But the public areas, especially the gardens, the food, and the service, all were certainly 4 star and we would definitley return. It was near the top of the hill down into Puerto De La Cruz, and it was a lovely walk down through the park and back each evening, but it really wouldn't suit unfit or disabled people.

On our arrival on new-years eve the restaurant had a "so-called" special meal buffet style prepared. The meat was literally inedible and nothing was enjoyable. Will go again next year
Was here for 3 days in September, hotel perfect in every way. My sister lives in Tenerife on the south side, and to her it was a special break. There was loads of choice for food, the room large and comfortable, the grounds with pond and ducks with their young made for a good break

Total abgewohnt und schlechter Zustand der Zimmer 7 und 7a inkl. Kakerlaken. Sperrmüll ist im besseren Zustand. Personal gut alles andere max. Pensionsniveau aber keinesfalls 4 Sterne
