Hello Sandra, thank you very much for your positive review. You are correct in your assumption that the wire is attached to the balcony to repel pigeons. We do indeed have a problem with pigeons in the community. Unfortunately, the municipality has not done anything about it so far. The pigeons nest on the higher balconies, lay eggs and soil the entire area. As the owner, I've personally had to clean my entire balcony with a face mask - the floor, walls, shutter box and cupboard ends were contaminated to a depth of several centimetres. Pigeon droppings are corrosive, so it is my responsibility to ensure that my guests do not come into contact with them. That's why I chose this translucent wire solution to repel pigeons. As you've probably noticed from the decor in my apartment, I generally place a lot of emphasis on style. I'd like to do without the wire, but unfortunately that's not possible. As far as work in the building is concerned, this is usually communicated by the property management via a notice inside the building. These are usually carried out during normal working hours in order to maintain quiet hours and minimize noise pollution. I personally was not informed of any such work, so I was not aware of any. Before your arrival I sent you detailed information about checking in. Unfortunately, you did not comply with my request to send me information about your flight times (arrival and departure times). I was also not informed about any flight delays, so I was unable to react accordingly. From the beginning, Ellen made a dependent impression. Immediately upon arrival, she asked my help on site how to operate the standard ceramic hob. The handling was explained to her on the spot. A few days later, she asked if more English channels would be available. I answered her question on the same day, pointing out that countless English channels can be received via satellite and that some were already pre-installed. However, it could be that the previous guests had changed something in the setting and if necessary the manual in the cabinet could help further. The next day Ellen wrote me that she could not open the washing machine after the wash cycle and that she could not receive a signal on the TV. I told her to please check the fuses, unplug the machine, turn off the power switch and check the lid of the washing machine. I also helped her with the TV. She finally got the laundry out of the washing machine, but claimed that it had a fault and needed to be repaired. I explained that the washing machine was new and had also been connected by a plumber. I had also used it last as recently as January without any difficulties. I would like to emphasize that vacationers also had no problems with the operation of the washing machine or the TV before. Nevertheless, I gave her the hint to the instruction manual in the cupboard, with the reason that the handling of a Spanish washing machine is surely different than the one we are used to. That day I received 9 mails from Ellen, which I had always answered in a solution-oriented way. The next day (Saturday) she wrote me 16 times. The content was still about the TV reception and the washing machine. Also on that day, I always answered her and tried to give helpful tips. The communication turned out to be difficult, Ellen often answered me with "not good", which sounded reproachful and finally did not lead to a result. Eventually I realized she couldn't get it done on her own, so I offered to hire a technician. When he arrived at her house a few days later, it turned out that she had unplugged the required internet connection to the TV and the washing machine was working fine. The technician showed her on the spot how to operate the washing machine and set her English programs after the internet connection was restored. Incredible to me was that she had also written to me 6 times even in the presence of the technician, although he spoke English and had explained everything to her in detail. The costs for the craftsman - i.e. the effort of a whole working day due to his journey from the north - I took over. Although I had always been helpful to her and had given countless explanations, Ellen had reported the incident to home away. This also shows that the communication with Ellen was problematic. It was also a pity that she was quite intransigent and did not realize that the problem was due to her incompetence. Also, there never came a "thank you", let alone an apology for pulling the plug. In the end, I see Ellen as a vacationer who would certainly be better off in a hotel with all-around service and for whom a vacation apartment, where a certain independence is required, is not suitable.
