I stayed in this hotel for my final three nights in Seoul and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of my stay. The staff was helpful and the room was more than amazing. The only drawback is the lack of dining choices in the area. There is wifi in each room, but hotel also has a room in the lobby where I could use the internet on a computer (at no cost) which was very helpful. I definitely will stay here again if I return to Seoul.
Tucked away on peaceful Golden Banana lane, this was an ideal location for my stay. I am a single woman traveler looking for that perfect boutique hotel experience, I found my spot in Siem Reap!
The quaint lane leads you to the secure gates for the Rambuten hotel, the lane is accessible by tuk yuk, but my taxi could not get down the lane so I walked down with my roller bag. The taxi driver was familiar with the Golden Banana name, not Rambuten. From what I understand there are a variety of hotels along this lane, all owned or pirated by the same owner. There are two Rambuten names, one is the hotel and the other is I think a resort. I walked into the wrong one upon arrival and the staff grabbed my bag without hesitation and walked me down to the proper hotel for check in, very welcome after a 4 hour flight delay!!
The Rambuten I stayed at was towards the end of the lane, before the 90 degree turn. I was greeted with a refreshing cool towel and welcome beverage, I had some brief paperwork upon check-in and the escorted to my room once I was relaxed and ready to move. The staff were mostly male, handsome, and reminded me of that 'pool boy' stereotype; exactly what I pictured for a gay friendly hotel. I selected this hotel due to numerous factors: location, price, salt water pool, room type, ad likelihood of children to impact the relaxation factor.
The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, though not as luxurious as the JW Marriott. However, the service is friendly and polite. Staff are very accommodating, if you ask in advance you can probably get a late checkout. The pool is well maintained, as are the locker facilities and sauna. Gym is pretty complete in terms of equipment. The buffet breakfast has a varied selection, everything is good, with the exception of the pastries (croissants are fine though). KAL limousine shuttle goes directly to the hotel, which is pretty convenient for tired travellers. The surrounding area seems quite but walk around, there are a few cafes and food courts tucked into the financial buildings. There is also a bus stop nearby and taxis are readily available (though I suggest you have hotel staff call them, some of the ones on the street try to rip you off). Would definitely stay here again.
