La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Tampa Near Busch Gardens

"I really debated whether to rate this hotel a 2 or a 3. It wasn't horrible, but I decided that I plan on never staying there again -- so I settled on a 2. The staff that I interacted with were fantastic. Both the man at the front desk and the woman inside the breakfast area were very professional and welcoming. The breakfast was fine. There was a good variety of items. It also appears that the room has a fresh coat of paint and newer flooring. Besides a spitball on the bottom of the wall and a baseball-sized stain on the comforter, the room seemed clean. The surrounding area does not feel safe -- but there is a police station nearby. There were some maintenance issues. There were rolled up towels outside the room next to our AC unit. The wall thermostat didn't work. The only soap by the sink was in a bottle labeled "shampoo". Also, our bathroom door did not shut easily; it took a little effort to make it shut all the way. But the thing that concerned me the most: our room door wasn't flush with the frame when it shut. We didn't notice until we went to bed, turned out all the lights, and saw quite a bit of light coming through the bottom right of the door. It was definitely wide enough for roaches to come through (although we didn't see any). Another guest at the hotel stood outside our room early in the morning to smoke a cigarette, and we smelled the smoke in our room. Hopefully the hotel will work a little harder on maintenance. Again, the staff were great."

"I always like staying at this particular location. The main reason is because their beds are fantastic. The staff was very helpful and even let me switch rooms because I was not fine of the one that I was assigned. However, not a fan of their breakfast at all. I felt like their choices were sparse. It would've also been nice to have some kind of muffins or pastries. This is the only location I should say hotel that I've ever been at where this is not offered. I just did not care for their choices. So keep that in mind. Everything else was great."

"I stayed at the hotel for 5 days and Housekeeping never gave me clean sheets, the floor was never cleaned. I had the same soap on my soap dish and was never giving a new one. There are only 2 signs in the building that No smoking."

"Hotel night staff was absolutely kind, courteous, helpful. Very much a pleasure to speak with. Day staff, specifically the 2 ladies at the front desk were quite stand offish. Uninterested in conversation. Would not look you in the eyes. Night staff made up for it. Very clean facility. Comfortable. The "How Skipping" crew came extremely early - 9AM. Facility could use better parking."

"Beautiful hotel. It should be being it was obviously new. The room door springs were exceptionally strong, making it a pain to get your luggage in/out. My only complaint was the breakfast was NOT COMPLIMENTARY. They require a $150 deposit up front. But a cup of coffee & glass of OJ was over $5.00."
