A beautiful, contemporary boutique hotel.

We would have preferred a larger bed, a double is too small. The windows should be double glazed as noise from outside can be heard on occasions. I would however, return and recommend to friends.

Beautifully restored

We were here a few years ago and it was a pleasant hotel then but the major refurbishments have now made this an excellent hotel. Staff were polite and interested, hotel room was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Restaurant for breakfast was excellent as well. Look forward to our next visit

Great CBD stay

Pros: I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and it is my favorite city hotel. It has a great feel. A very tasteful refurbishment of an old building.
Cons: Just perhaps some ventilation in the smaller bathrooms?
Location: So much to do in The Rocks area. Great place to stay.
Stayed from Good Friday - Easter Sunday. Bathroom had no exhaust fan so it gets pretty stuffy. Fire alarm went off at 3am Sunday. It was our room that triggered the alarm? We seemed to get the blame for setting the alarm off because of steam in the bathroom?? First concern should be "are you ok" surely? We were sound asleep in bed when the alarm went off at 3am. The shower was used at 9pm? It all seemed a little strange so maybe you need to check out room 305 on the top floor?

Hi, I'm so sorry to learn of the issue with the fire alarm. I agree, that does seem very odd that the steam from the shower would set the alarm off so long after. Not sure that the reason you were given was actually correct. Once again, I'm sorry that your nights rest was disturbed. With that said, we really appreciate the 5 stars. Excellent location to Circular Quay

Location: In the Rocks area of Sydney..2 blocks from Circular Quay which includes all ferries, Opera House and shopping areas.
Had a wonderful stay here. 2 blocks from Circular Quay and an easy walk to Opera House. The staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly. They felt like old friends and couldn't have done more for us. The room was comfortable and you felt like you were at home. Definitely would recommend this property both for convenience and for staff friendliness.

On the Rocks, Shaken not Stirred

Pros: Location
Cons: Charging for wi-fi these days is unnecessary
Location: Well located for visiting Sydney, the docks. Easy to get to particularly to and from the airport.
Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a wonderful experience, our room was so spacious, the toliteries were delightful. Our breakfast was beautiful. The service was excellent and so friendly. The history of the building and occupants was fascinating. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great Location

The hotel is in a wonderful location and is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and sights in The Rocks. The Superior Queen room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff had great recommendations on where to eat and even made a reservation for us. We were traveling in a group of four, so had two separate rooms. While the room my husband and I stayed in was fine, my husband’s parents found ants in the room they were originally given. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and moved them to an upgraded room. They were very happy with the new room until the card swipe machine on the door stopped working. For the remainder of our stay, they had to have a member of the hotel staff let them into the room every time they needed back in since the hotel wasn’t able to get the mechanism fixed while we were there. The staff again were very accommodating and ended up discounting our parking for the length of our stay. So while we did have a couple of issues, overall we really enjoyed our stay and cannot say enough good things about the staff.

A great stay, however ...

The stay was great. The only thing that really bothered me was a security of $100 was taken off my credit card upon check in. All other hotels that I have been to, have just taken my credit card details. Its now a week later and I am still waiting for the $100 to be placed back onto my credit card.
