"We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. It is exactly as shown in the listing. We loved the hot tub and sitting around the fire outside on the terrace watching the stars! Although it seems quite isolated it is less than half an hour’s stroll from Dunston and a few minutes further to Metheringham. The cottage and the views were stunning and we would highly recommend!"

Preliminary walk around and checks found there was no fire alarms, fire blanket and no Welcome pack or inventory list of what to expect or where to go for emergency planning. "Booked & received no arrival instructions. Numerous attempts to contact owner but nothing. Drove 4 hours there and still nothing at checkin time. Spoke to VRBO who couldnt contact owner or find us a replacement. Advised us to find something ourselves which we did. However after they told us this they send an email saying cant book through a rival & only entitled to a refund for ONE night of the THREE we had paid for. No way. Couple of strong emails later and we got a full refund. Poor from start...

"Great little cottage in quiet locality, I'd say it's uber comfortable for 5 adults ( pull out bed for 6th isn't really usable other than snaffling the mattress & using in lounge... as we did). Cottage well equipped & everything clean. Local town great with nice pubs, co-op, chip shop. Short drive to great beaches. Lovely stay."

"The property was great and in a nice village. Local cafe at Manor House Farm is worth a visit as is the nearest pub Hare & Hounds. We visited Lincolnshire City centre which was lovely, the castle, cathedral and historic prison were all in walking distance once parked up in centre. We also visited a National trust Old Workhouse which was very interesting. Lots of things to do in Lincolnshire and well worth a visit."

"Just come back from a wonderful break. The property was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is fantastic for exploring Lincolnshire, we enjoyed days out at tattershall water park, jubilee park, hired bikes and rode to Horncastle on the spa trail and the beach at Anderby Creek was really nice. "Loved staying here, it was a different experience to staying at a hotel, it was cosy and comfortable. Had a lovely patio area outside where we sat every morning with a cuppa tea, at night we enjoyed sitting under stars while watching films on our laptop.
