“Mixed review”
The reviews around this one pretty much say it all. I found the people managing the hotel and restaurants below to be wonderful. I found the cleanliness to be sanitary but a bit lacking on follow through, and several items in the room could have benefited from some attention. For me, the important parts were covered and the location was both convenient and restful. If you are looking for luxery and instant access to the beach, it's probably not for you, but if you plan on doing a bit of everything and don't need the Ritz, you really can't go wrong here.
“Clean and Quiet”
When you travel what you need is a clean place to call base. I found this to be so at Travel Inn. It is quiet, within easy reach of supermarkets, the airport, and easy access to taxi and nus service.
“Mixed Review”
It really depends on what you're going to St. Maarten for and what you expect from your hotel. First off, I am not picky AT ALL when it comes to accommodations. I camp, I stay hostels, etc. This place is best for young singles looking to party at the strip right outside of the hotel. Me, on the other hand, with my husband and 3 yr old looking for a place to sleep for one night until I get the ferry to Anguilla...not so much. I was only looking for a good bed. But the place was stinky (mildew? humidity?). The walls need repainting. The place was totally loud, especially with the techno blaring until 3 a.m., and the drunks stumbling and yelling in the hallways until about 3:30 a.m. So if you're going to SM to party...do it. It's "cheap" when compared to surrounding hotels. If you're looking for a place to sleep & recharge, take your cash else where. They do have a great breakfast place though. They were totally awesome to the kiddo.
“TRAVEL INN - PRICE = QUALITY.”
LOOK ABOVE. Good facilities, friendly personnel
“Fine for one or two nights.”
Bare bones accomodations. The refrigerator and microwave worked, the A/C was reasonably quiet, the room and bathroom were clean enough, but the water pressure was almost nil. It was convenient to the airport. We stayed one night until we were able to move over to our timeshare.
“Travel Inn 2010”
While I didn't expect the Ritz, I'm not sure I expected something that kind of resembled a slum. Walking aroundt he area did not feel safe, though it was within walking distance of reasonably priced restaurants. I was glad to have printed out my reservation since they couldn't find it based on name. Apparenlty some rooms had Internet capability. Ours did not. I did appreciate the fact that it was air conditioned. The bed was hard and the door seemed to not fit the frame as it had to be slammed shut to get it to close. There was a big pipe sticking up from the shower, that I couldn't explain why it was there. Basically, the only reason I over nighted in st maarten was because my flight to Miami was in the AM and the flight from St Barths the same day would not have provided enough time. So, while I wouldn't recommend the hotel to others, it's all in what you are willing to pay for and tolerate in a cheap hotel.
“Fine for the price and location.”
It was everything you would expect for the price. Its no resort, but fine for a stopover to/from your vacation spot and the airport. I got some sketchy vibes from the area, but it is in the commercial district. I would stay there again if necessary. Good for one night. Would definitely not choose it for long term stay.
“don't stay here”
We have timeshare at Atrium and couldn't get in an extra night... wanted to stay close ...next time will get a car a day sooner and travel
“Okay for One Night Stay”
This hotel was okay for an inexpensive overnight stay near the airport. It is not a modern hotel but was fairly clean. It is within walking distance to a lot of restaurants & bars.
“Not Impressed”
We did not feel safe sleeping in the hotel. After the airconditioner started leaking water everywhere we decided to not stay the night.
