Room was nice and well presented. There are no in-room kitchen facilities, so all your cooking has to be done in the shared BBQ/kitchen areas. Overall a good stay. Main restaurant serves good food at better prices than Perth.
Would definitely stay again.
I tossed up between staying at Monkey Mia (a resort) or in Denham and am glad I stayed in Denham. Not only did I have a beach right across the road but also access to various places including the brilliant visitor's centre, exciting quad bike ride, hire car, Hamelin Pool etc. There are a few supermarkets, cafes, a yummy bakery, a pub and a great view of sunset. My top tip is to make sure you have organised a way to get into the town from the airport. Shark Bay Tours have a bus that can do a pick-up and drop-off as well as organise the quad bike ride. They were really friendly and laid back.
The hotel was pristine and I could walk into the main town area with ease - it's right there! It also has free wifi access for guests. They were very friendly and helpful. I only stayed for a few nights but could easily have stayed for longer. I got to visit Monkey Mia and see them feeding the dolphins and also visit the pearl farm, check out the visitors centre and watch an awesome DVD on dophins but I wouldn't really want to have stayed there because I pretty much covered all I wanted to do in that spot in that one morning.
It's such a beautiful part of Oz and if you don't get there by car, you need to hire one for the day and just experience those long, straight stretches of road with the amazing red earth. Expect to pay a bit for the luxury to do so but I think it's worth it. When you consider how isolated the place is, getting anything there would be costly.
