La Cuesta Inn served as a great place to stay while visiting Cal Poly SLO for work. Highly recommend if you are doing something similar because it's extremely close to the location. Staff is super helpful and kind.

This was our first time staying at La Cuesta inn. Our daughter was competing in the Big West Championships for track and field. The hotel felt like home. When we arrived the lady at front desk was going to charge us a fee of $10 per hour for early check in and we arrived 6 hrs early. A nice gentleman came from the back and said, one fee of $20 only and not per hr. His name is BRADEN!!!! He is the best and just made our day. We were so tired from the drive and he must have sensed it. Everyone we left and came back, BRADEN would say: “Welcome Home” and that’s what it felt like “HOME! Thank you BRADEN, they are very lucky to have you as part of their team! We will never forget you and if we are in town again, La Cuesta inn is where we will for sure Stay! 10 Stars🙂🙂

Quiet and very clean hotel for a good price, bonus points that it’s next to a 24 hour convenience store to grab snacks and water for the room, would stay again.

The property had an odd smell, rooms were acceptably clean but not nice. The real concern was the handful of homeless huts right outside my balcony. Made me very uncomfortable.

Staff is always welcoming, even when you check in at midnight. The room is clean, no musty smell, and features a nice balcony. Included breakfast was not much, but at least you can enjoy it with a view :). Wifi is good, and teh room is classic business hotel. That is, perfectly fine for my needs. Located right off the highway, which is very convenient but outside is noisy as you would expect. I feel like this is a great place to stay at an affordable price. I've stayed 3 times now, and will probably come again next time I need to overnight in SLO.

I booked a room with 2 beds. I showed up about 10:20pm only to find out they gave my room to wrong person and they only had a single bed room available. I was with adult son. I asked how I get refund for difference since I booked 2 beds and they had no clue. I could not get receipt since I booked with Expedia. Expedia tried to call about the room but nobody answered. My kid had to sleep on roll away bed

This was our family first trip to San Luis Obispo, a very last minute choice. The area is gorgeous and also hotels can be pricey but La Cuesta Inn was reasonable, clean, the room was spacious, the bathroom impeccable , our room was on the 4th floor and we arrived late so the underground parking with the easy elevator access was great. Our room fronts the hwy but I was surprised the quietness, the view of the mountains at sunrise was breathtaking. Thank you for the breakfast. I definitely recommend it and will be staying there again in the future.

this is my first time here. great property and clean. i like my room, paid extra for a balcony and it has a nice view. the view from my other window is the trash dumpsters though which is yuck. asked for one hour late checkout but told would be 50.00 so that is disappointing. plenty to do in slo so i’ll figure it out while my daughter finishes her study session. Employees are very kind and engaging

We liked that you the walk to downtown was manageable and it is located just outside Cal Poly. Staff was very nice. The breakfast is minimal but works.

Good location. Nice rooms they seemed understaffed in housekeeping, no towels at the pool, dirt on floor stayed there both nights so vacuuming was poor or non existent. But otherwise comfortable.

The room was clean and met our needs. We arrived 30 minutes before check in and our room was ready however if we checked in we were told we would be charged an early check in fee. Seemed ridiculous and not very customer friendly. Free continental breakfast is adequate, but very basic. Not much protein available.
